@MeesWynants Happening in India since 2014 (new govt, that started forcing this unlike the previous one which was insisting). Biometric ID linking with SIM started around 2018, if you fight very hard, you may escape the linking but you still need to provide your biometrics.

@2talkon No.. and neither did the people, including one who originally posted, that the biggest concern isn't the cybercriminals with our data, it's the State and MNCs with our data.. there's a limit to the extent a cybercriminal can harm, but power of the state to do harm is limitless.

This socialization of the cost is questionable from fairness p.o.v..
