“This is a school in Stepanakert for 950 students. azerbaijan fired three missiles at the building”
Why didn't the Armenians stay in Artsakh, @NikolPashinyan?
Between March 22 and 26, 1920, the Armenian population of Shushi in Artsakh endured one of the most devastating massacres in modern Armenian history. The events constituted a coordinated attack carried out by forces referred to at the time as “Caucasian Tatars” (present-day Azerbaijanis), with the backing of the Musavat government. Thousands of Armenians were killed, churches were burned, and the city’s schools, libraries, and cultural institutions were systematically destroyed.
In 1919, Artsakh had been declared an inseparable part of Armenia by the Fourth and Fifth Artsakh Congresses. Despite this, Azerbaijani authorities, led by Governor-General Khosrov Sultanov and aligned with the Young Turks, pursued deliberate policies aimed at eliminating the Armenian presence in the region.
On March 23, 1920, under the pretext of disarmament, Turkish officers and armed groups entered the Armenian quarters of Shushi and unleashed a new wave of violence. The city was set ablaze, and what had once been a thriving Armenian cultural center was reduced to ruins. Only an estimated 5,000 to 6,000 Armenians survived, many fleeing to Varanda and Dizak.
The consequences of these events continue to resonate today. In 2023, the Armenian population of Artsakh was forcibly displaced following what has been widely described as ethnic cleansing. The region remains under Azerbaijani control, and its centuries-old Armenian cultural heritage faces ongoing destruction and erasure.
The legacy of Shushi in 1920 endures not only as a symbol of profound loss, but as a call to preserve memory, defend historical truth, and ensure that such atrocities are neither forgotten nor repeated.
Will the European countries and the EU take necessary steps to ensure the rights of the indigenous Armenian population to their ancestral lands? All European countries are signatories to the UN Genocide Convention and are legally obligated to act to prevent and punish genocide; this should be a central issue at the 8th European Political Community Summit in Yerevan on May 4 2026

PRESS RELEASE
17 March 2026
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Urgent Appeal to the International Committee of the Red Cross to Restore Humanitarian Access to Armenian Prisoners in Azerbaijan
The Buenos Aires Chapter of the Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief (SOAR), under the leadership of Attorney Luciana Minassian, has formally addressed an urgent appeal to Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, calling for the immediate restoration of humanitarian access to Armenian prisoners currently detained in Azerbaijan.
The appeal highlights the alarming situation faced by detainees, including prominent Armenian figure Ruben Vardanyan, who remain without access to basic humanitarian safeguards. More than a month after the conclusion of their trials, detainees have reportedly not received official verdicts, remain uninformed of the charges against them, and lack clarity regarding their place of detention.
Serious concerns have also been raised regarding the physical and psychological condition of the prisoners. Testimonies from individuals released in January 2026 point to deteriorated health conditions, intensifying fears for those who remain in custody.
The situation has been further aggravated by the absence of independent monitoring mechanisms following the departure of the International Committee of the Red Cross from Azerbaijan. Families are now left to rely on rare and brief telephone communications as their only connection to detained relatives,communications that are themselves increasingly uncertain.
In its appeal, SOAR calls upon the International Committee of the Red Cross to:
• Re-establish access to places of detention;
• Ensure detainees receive official legal documentation in a language they understand;
• Facilitate regular and protected communication with families;
• Monitor the health and treatment conditions of all detainees.
“This is a matter of fundamental human dignity and humanitarian law,” stated Luciana Minassian. “No individual should be left without oversight, without information, and without the ability to communicate with their family. The restoration of humanitarian access is not optional, it is essential.”
SOAR emphasized its full confidence in the mandate and historic role of the International Committee of the Red Cross as a neutral and indispensable humanitarian actor and expressed readiness to cooperate in any efforts aimed at protecting the rights and wellbeing of detainees.

Reminder: Azerbaijan used banned phosphorous munitions during the military aggression against #Artsakh in 2020. The 🇦🇿AF used them to set fire to forests where civilians were hiding from attacks. This video was shot at the end of Oct. 2020.

Overnight, Azerbaijani state media is suddenly revising relations with #Maduro - from BFF to mockery.
This is exactly how disposable Azerbaijan’s “partnerships” are. Remember this the next time you hear about the so-called “peace process” with #Armenia.
Wonder if this will be evidence in the prosecution of Maduro (amazing breakdown by @FDD’s @SinanCiddi and William Doran). Shows that Erdogan is an accomplice in Maduro’s war against the West. #WorstAllyEver

France banned the Grey Wolves after their mob was on the streets of Lyon looking for Armenians….during a pandemic curfew. Also, the #ArmenianGenocide museum was also vandalized.

Ermittlungen dazu laufen.

openly say they came to the Caucasus to kill and cut off the heads of Christians?
