@TheMokou27@serialkieller This is my family's personal experience. While our house was getting built, our city became a fortress of some sort of the NPAs. Every night they'd stay at our place to sleep and demand for expensive items so they wouldn't wreck havoc. Not branded = something bad happens
@JoblessVince Please know that most Filipinos don't care and are actually happy ube is trending. And we are usually on Facebook, not X/Twitter. The very vocal ones here are, unfortunately, into woke ideologies, albeit they are kinda 10 yrs behind.
@TheMokou27@serialkieller No, the NPA demanded we pay them and give them branded items or else. This was during the 80s. I will not support a group that extorts money from civilians.
@bettercallzuzu@Olfool2 Nope. That's what YOU feel and YOUR reaction. I would like to think the Filipino identity is more than just a ube and icecream. Yes we were treated horribly before. But the now is more important for the future.
@JasonR_EG@redbtkn Performative ata sila? I like ube be it ice cream, cake, or halaya. Pero oa na. It's just ube. Good thing is napansin ko anything ube related, Vietnamese and Indonesians do mention it's a Filipino thing
@BillTheKid1603 We have. But because of how enormous they are people just focus on the small, inconsequential ones. Plus, the ones who got irate with the ube ice cream like adding buzzwords upon buzzwords for an issue that isn't even really an issue.
@NumberOneCu Probably. I've had dirty ice cream many times and I know that not all our sorbetes are made with coconut milk. In the early 1900s maybe. But the current sorbetes now definitely have milk (evap or condensed). Oot, but charcoal ice cream/sorbetes tastes like milk.
@JoblessVince It's stupid, really. Those who got hurt over it are chronically online. I was genuinely confused why they were mad over vegan ube ice cream. And then they keep adding buzz words to defend their stance.
@wheywheysan Hello. I always thought you were half Filipino, hence you always talk about the Philippines. Thank you for promoting, the Philippines, opm, and ppop in your posts.
@npozyPIbnc16995 Hello. I was in Japan on May 2024 for a vacation. The cashiers were definitely serious, especially those in 7/11 and Aeon. But the one in Donki was super friendly and we talked about Pokemon because of my shirt and his bag lol
Okay here’s the Japanese translation, Mga Kaps!
Actually, the CEO mistakenly said sa interview na 100k-capacity ang Philippine Arena. 😂
CEO: A Famous National Artist, actually I once watched their live concert, in an arena that holds 100,000 people…
Sasha MC: Wait, there’s a 100,000-capacity arena in the Philippines?
Suzuki MC: Arena????!
CEO: Yes, and they sold-out 2days concert there.
Suzuki MC: 200,000 people?! That’s insane!!
CEO: They told me they want to perform in Summersonic, it was like a reverse-offer,
and I was like “I would really love to see you perform this year! “. That’s why I placed them in Pacific Stage.
Suzuki MC: That’s amazing!

Wait wait wait a… Did I hear it right?!
The CEO of Summersonic, Naoki Shimizu-san, watched SB19’s Simula at Wakas Concert at Philippine Arena???
He flew all the way to the Philippines just to watch the concert??
That’s so flattering!😊

@ANIMORTK I just realized very big artists nga pala kasama ni SB19. Parang in a way Summer Sonic is helping them get more Japanese fans and get bigger in Japan.
