You've used clever approaches, but inline replenishment under flash sale load is a hidden latency spike, your mitigation reduces the thundering herd, it doesn't eliminate it. A Redis + outbox pattern fixes atomicity without sacrificing throughput (ik outbox needs a reliable background worker, but that's a much simpler problem to handle). Next Black Friday will stress-test this hard. Isn't this too overcomplicated and risky? @tobi

A lot of new startups are struggling with basic software engineering tasks. If there’s a task that AI can’t do, their engineering teams struggle with it. It seems like many people these days are no longer able to write logic for complex problems. AI appears to be causing brain rot among developers.

I’m sorry, but if your star developer is relying solely on AI prompts for things like editing documents and then complaining when AI agents can’t do it properly, you’re going to have a really tough time.
