ICC REJECTS TRUMP SANCTIONS: ‘NO ONE SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR SERVING THE CAUSE OF JUSTICE’
WATCH: The International Criminal Court (ICC) condemns the United States’ decision to impose sanctions on the tribunal as an institution, calling it an attempt to obstruct justice and undermine the international rule of law.
The move follows earlier US sanctions against 13 ICC judges and prosecutors.
The ICC warns that the sanctions threaten its operations and could intimidate those working with the court.
ICC President Tomoko Akane vowed that the tribunal would continue its work independently and impartially, while calling on its 125 member states to help safeguard its operations. | @TristanNodalo

Lawyer Manases Carpio, husband of Vice President Sara Duterte, withdrew a total of P41 million from two banks in a single day, according to Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) Executive Director Ronel Buenaventura on Monday.
During Day 33 of Duterte’s impeachment trial, Buenaventura testified that Carpio withdrew the P41 million on August 6, 2024, in six transactions.
Defense lawyer Mark Vinluan repeatedly objected to the presentation of the documents, arguing that Carpio is not an impeachable official.

Walang pinagkaiba.
Inilahad ni Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea RAdm. Jay Tarriela na ang ilang politikong nananahimik sa isyu ng West Philippine Sea ang posibleng nakatatanggap ng pera mula sa China.
“Kapag Pilipino ka and you’re pretty much aware of what’s happening because of the transparency effort of the Philippine government and you don’t say anything… para sa akin kaduda-duda na agad ‘yung tinitindigan mo,” ani Tarriela sa “Storycon” ng One News.
Naniniwala din siyang gumagastos ang China na milyon-milyong piso para hubugin ang political agenda ng Pilipinas pagdating sa isyu ng West Philippine Sea.

At least P4.4 billion worth of covered and suspicious transactions were recorded under the bank accounts of Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband, Manases Carpio, Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) Executive Director Ronel Buenaventura said on Monday.
Buenaventura made the testimony during Day 33 of the impeachment trial of the Vice President, saying the value was reduced from P6.7 billion, which the AMLC official testified in the House justice panel, to P4.4 billion after a correction was made by one of the subject banks, BPI.
Of the 4.4 billion, Buenaventura also testified that P1.63 billion accounted for inflows, while P1.3 billion was for outflows.
