There is a reason the Day of Judgment must come.

The story of a young Egyptian named Mahmoud has shaken countless hearts. Once a student of Islamic law with dreams, ambitions, and a future ahead of him, he has spent the last four years wandering the streets of Helwan in Cairo, mentally broken and unable to care for himself.

According to local accounts, everything changed after a bitter inheritance dispute following his father's death. Mahmoud was allegedly deprived of his rightful share, and the emotional trauma left him battling severe mental illness.

After videos of him spread online, volunteers and community members began searching for his identity. They traced his roots to Sohag and identified relatives in Aswan. Their goal is not to shame anyone, but to obtain the documents needed to move Mahmoud into a care facility where he can receive treatment, dignity, and protection.

Stories like this remind us how easily wealth, property, and worldly gain can make people forget justice, compassion, and even family ties. Money remains behind, but the cries of the oppressed are never ignored by Allah.

This is why belief in the Day of Judgment matters. If a wrongdoer escapes justice in this world, if the vulnerable are denied their rights, and if the oppressed never find justice on earth, then there must be a Day when every soul is held accountable, every injustice is addressed, and every right is restored.

The Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:

"Beware of oppression, for oppression will become darkness on the Day of Resurrection." (Sahih Muslim 2578)

He also said:

"Whoever has wronged his brother should seek his forgiveness today, before the Day when there will be neither gold nor silver. If he has good deeds, they will be taken from him and given to the one he wronged. If he has no good deeds left, the sins of the oppressed will be placed upon him." (Sahih al-Bukhari 2449)
