This Defense Pact is a welcome & timely development at a crucial moment of turbulence & transformation. Coming soon after Pakistan’s pivotal role in brokering ‘Islamabad MoU’ between Iran & USA + launch of R-4 as a Diplomatic Coordination Mechanism which includes Pakistan, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia & Egypt, today’s Pact has a 3-fold significance. This is the first Pan-Islamic military institutional initiative among 3 key Muslim countries, independent of the West. Second, this Muslim Defense Pact is big blow to Israel & ‘Abraham Accords’, as it would be an effective counter to Israeli expansionism. Third, it’s good for Pakistan’s security, given the emerging India-Israeli Axis, which has backing of some regional regimes as well!

Makkah Al-Mukarramah Summit for Joint Defence.

At the gracious invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the President of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, paid a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 24 Safar 1448H, corresponding to August 7, 2026.

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister received H.E. the President of Türkiye, and H.E. the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah, where the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Summit for Joint Defence was held, during which the distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Türkiye and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were reviewed, along with a number of issues of mutual interest.

Guided by the longstanding historical ties among the three States, based on the enduring bonds of brotherhood and Islamic solidarity that unite them, and building upon their shared strategic interests and longstanding defence cooperation, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, and H.E. Mr. Muhammed Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, signed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, reflecting the three States’ shared commitment to further strengthening their collective security and to promoting peace, security, and stability in the region and beyond, in pursuit of a secure and prosperous future.

The Agreement is intended to strengthen collective deterrence against any act of aggression, and stipulates that any armed attack against any one of the three States shall be regarded as an attack against them all. It further provides for the enhancement of all aspects of defence cooperation among the three States.

Bugün Suudi Arabistan Veliaht Prensi ve Başbakanı Muhammed bin Selman’ın nazik davetine icabetle Mekke-i Mükerreme’ye bir ziyaret gerçekleştirdik.

Ziyaretimde aziz kardeşlerim Suudi Arabistan Veliaht Prensi ve Başbakanı Muhammed bin Selman ve Pakistan Başbakanı Şahbaz Şerif’le bir araya geldik.

Bu vesileyle üç ülke olarak Ortak Savunma Anlaşması imzaladık.

Kolektif caydırıcılığı temel alan bu anlaşma, güvenlik ve savunma iş birliğimizin ilerletilmesine, savunma sanayisinde ortak projeler geliştirilmesine ve terörizmle mücadeleye katkı sağlayacaktır.

BM Şartı’nın 51’inci maddesinde tanımlanan savunma hakkını da teyit eden anlaşma, hiçbir ülkeyi hedef almadığı gibi bölgemizin huzurunu, refahını ve istikrarını amaçlayan tüm kardeş ülkelerin katılımına açıktır.

Türkiye, bölgesel sahiplenme vizyonu doğrultusunda çatışma ve krizlerin uluslararası hukuka saygı temelinde, diyalog ve diplomasiyle çözüme kavuşturulmasına yönelik ilkeli tutumunu kararlılıkla sürdürecektir.

Ziyaretimizin, istişarelerimizin ve imzaladığımız anlaşmanın tüm bölgemiz için hayırlara vesile olmasını Rabb’imden niyaz ediyorum.

NEWS: The “Makkah Mutual Defence Agreement,” named after the Holy City of Makkah, home to Masjid Al Haram and the Holy Ka’bah, was signed today at Al Safa Palace in Makkah by Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 , Türkiye 🇹🇷 and Pakistan 🇵🇰

Joint Statement:

Building on the deep-rooted historical ties between the three countries, the bonds of brotherhood and Islamic solidarity that unite them, and their shared strategic interests and close defence cooperation, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the President of the Republic of Türkiye, and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan signed the “Makkah Mutual Defence Agreement.”
