Year 10 @AshfordEAL having a few glorious moments on the beach before returning to @AshfordSchool after researching for presentations on Brighton architecture.
@AshfordEAL yr. 9s have consulted a wide range of resources and inspiration in @AshfordSchLib or online(@_BTO, @Natures_Voice) for their migratory birds presentations for tomorrow. Will we hear interesting facts, linguistic signposts and varied natural world vocabulary?
Thank you @AshfordSchLib for supporting year 9 @AshfordEAL students discover for themselves a range of vocabulary connected to book genres and relevant examples on your bookshelves!
Congratulations to the Year 12s who completed their TEFL training on Saturday, and are now qualified to teach English to learners in the UK and abroad. To pass the course, they prepared some very creative lessons on topics including movies and restaurants.
We found we had in our midst an @AsfordEAL student direct descendant of Holocaust survivors when we started researching and reflecting on the definition and examples of genocide provided by @HMD_UK, as well on events in Nanjing, China and Ukraine in the 1930s.

He caught up with his Form Tutor Miss Martin, his EAL teachers Ms Barber, Mr Munteanu & Miss Dores, & with Mr Kendall his Business Teacher!
"Marley was dead, to begin with'. Year 9 and 10 enjoyed a festive performance of A Christmas Carol today! Thank you @QuantumTheatre for your fantastic show!
Finally, all passive voice + space vocabulary presentations done, and posters displayed! These @AshfordEAL students are now already tackling the next topic and language points back on Earth: living creatures + adverbs + 'signpost' words.
Not only #EuropeanLanguageDay2022 for @AshfordEAL, as can be seen by the collection of dictionaries for one of our groups, but thank for spoiling the whole school with activities this week @AshfordMFL !
We were delighted to hear from alumna Heather Forbes (1980) that she was awarded an OBE in The Queen's Birthday Honours List 2022 for services to UK Education & the promotion of the English language overseas.
Congratulations on this outstanding achievement!
