Our Harvest donations showcased as an Ashford School crest! Congrats to Y12 students Chloe & Izzy, who as part of their @DofE Gold Award helped manage the appeal. These donations will provide vital support to those in our community who struggle to afford food. @FareShareKent
Today, as we break for half term, @AshfordSchool pupils and staff are invited to a (slightly early) #Halloween storytelling in the Somerville Library at lunchtime. Come along if you dare...

A few Yr5 primary schools spent the day @AshfordSchool today. A #HarryPotter style event saw students create their very own dragon wings. Ethanol was then combusted by our own #Wizard. Needs volume turned up!
Congratulations to our record twelve Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award holders who were invited to Buckingham Palace last Friday to celebrate their success. We are incredibly proud of you all.

@AshfordEAL yr. 9s have consulted a wide range of resources and inspiration in @AshfordSchLib or online(@_BTO, @Natures_Voice) for their migratory birds presentations for tomorrow. Will we hear interesting facts, linguistic signposts and varied natural world vocabulary?
Celebrating #WorldDraculaDay in the Somerville Library today. This is of particular interest to Year 8 who are studying the #Gothic in @AshfordEnglish lessons.

Year 8 have been embracing everything Gothic this term with some brilliant research into different Gothic texts. Do check out our KS3 Gothic reads in the Somerville Library @AshfordSchLib
Fascinated to learn that there used to be an 18th century bell on the roof of what is now the Somerville Library. Not exactly ideal in this 21st century silent study area but fascinating nonetheless!
Read the replies to @AshfordAlumni’s tweet to hear the bell being rung.
Looking through the 1936 School Ties, we were drawn to the intro of the School Bell - found on the roof over Somerville & rung outside the window of Alfred cloakroom.
Who was in charge of ringing the bell? Did it signify the end of lessons? What are your stories?
As part of our World Book Day celebrations, Year 7 and 8 got to experience a talk from the author Alan Durant today, delivering a session about his poetry and novels!
We celebrated World Book Day yesterday throughout the day! It was fantastic to hear the students and staff discussing their favourite books and their current reads. Let's keep sharing! Suggested reading lists can be found here: https://t.co/KZgIan1MXv
Year 8 had an exciting opportunity to discuss their favourite books with their classmates on World Book Day. We had an eclectic mix of favourites! @WorldBookDayUK
Thank you @AshfordSchLib for supporting year 9 @AshfordEAL students discover for themselves a range of vocabulary connected to book genres and relevant examples on your bookshelves!
