Really nice to meet up with my mate Lee again down in Rhyl to look for the pectoral sandpiper. Luckily we walked a bit further down the path and a lucky spot of it just as we were about to walk away. Great looking little bird with lovely colours.
@BirdGuides Any idea why the new iOS app is logging me out every day and I have to reinstall to log back in? It’s getting really annoying. Any fix coming?
A stunning Woodchat shrike and a surprise twitch this morning locally half an hour down the road in Warrington. Met with some friends who also got to see it. Fantastic local bird and my second in the uk.. species 208 for the year list! #woodchatshirke#daresbury
Year list stands at 183 as I’m heading off to Yorkshire tomorrow. I’m sure I’ll add plenty of sea birds to it and hopefully the Filey lesser yellow legs. Added wood sandpiper by Chester and black grouse finally after 4 visits. 7 males were present.
Stone-curlew in Kelsall Cheshire this evening. Probably get one next week in Norfolk but couldn’t miss a chance to get a Local bird and take my folks to see it too. Mishap meant I didn’t have my phone scope adapter but did well handheld with the stabilising software I use.
Hoylake…an interesting looking drake Scoter that really stood out from the crowd this morning. Out on tideline at low water, off Hoylake RNLI. @PatchBirding
With the warmer weather today a reminder that if you see a police officer you must buy them a cornetto
