From the archives | But if President Lincoln were to free the slaves—a preposterous idea—how would that be fair to slaves who risked life and limb to escape or who actually bought their emancipation the old-fashioned way: through hard work?

Let’s be real: there’s a WHOLE lot of men whose lives, careers, and families have benefited from an abortion (including several “pro-life” GOP Congressmen).
Men, we need you right now. You can get through in rooms others can’t. Your power matters. Speak up. This is about us all.
absolutely wild that the scotus said, no states rights for restricting gun sales and full states rights for restricting healthcare for women in a matter of 24 hours. its so transparent.
Abortion, which is lifesaving in cases of miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, etc, will now be illegal in many states & even criminal in some & women will die as a result of this decision. So don't tell me you're pro-life.
i’m so tired of abortion rights being framed around truly tragic circumstances like assault and incest. if you get pregnant & you don’t want to be pregnant, it is your right over your own body that is under siege. no one, including a fetus, can use your body against your consent.
Please don’t cut trans men and nonbinary people out of the conversation today. This is not just a women’s rights issue, anyone who can get pregnant is affected.
Overturning Roe and outlawing abortions will never make them go away.
It only makes them more dangerous, especially for the poor + marginalized.
People will die because of this decision. And we will never stop until abortion rights are restored in the United States of America.
Overturning Roe v. Wade and denying women the right to control their own bodies is an outrage and in defiance of what the American people want. Democrats must now end the filibuster in the Senate, codify Roe v. Wade, and once again make abortion legal and safe.
If this was about babies, there would be universal healthcare. Free education. Free daycare. Southern states would be doing all they can to drop the Black maternal mortality rate. This is about power and control
if you actually cared about kids you should probably put more funding into schools, health care, shelters, foster care, and food programs, not force people who don't want kids to have them
Homes prices have jumped 118% since 1965.
College costs have gone up 169% since 1980.
But pay for young workers? It’s only increased by a measly 19% since 1980.
The problem isn’t too much avocado toast and iced coffee.
The problem is an economy rigged against young people.
