Today, the Center for Security, Strategy and Policy Research @CSSPR_UOL is proud to launch PRISM Vol. I, the inaugural publication of our Pakistan Risk, Incident, and Security Monitor (PRISM), a dedicated, data-driven effort to track, analyze, and interpret the rapidly evolving security landscape of Pakistan from January to September 2025.
PRISM Vol. I is CSSPR’s attempt to institutionalize a long-term national capacity for monitoring, diagnosing, and understanding these patterns. It fills a longstanding gap by offering:
Real-time mapping of incidents
-Trends and transformations in militant strategies
-Detailed provincial and district-level breakdowns
-Insights on internal and external drivers of violence
-Documentation of major attacks and emerging threat vectors
-Contextual analysis grounded in verified open-source intelligence
This is a working document, meant to evolve as threats evolve. This report is not just a compilation of incidents; it is a sober reminder of the shifting nature of militancy, the widening geography of violence, and the complex intersection of local grievances, regional dynamics, and global power vacuums that shape Pakistan’s security environment today.
This report has been months in the making. It reflects the work of a research team that stayed with the data even when the story it told was uncomfortable. It carries within it the hours of verification, cross-checking, and analytical rigor that shape responsible scholarship. And it also carries the quiet weight of the names and faces behind the numbers, those lost, those injured, and those living with the consequences of a conflict that is evolving faster than our public discourse has been able to follow.
Today, as we release PRISM Vol. I, we acknowledge that national security cannot rely on intuition or inherited narratives. It demands data, analysis, transparency, and the courage to confront difficult truths.
PRISM will be that mirror. Regular. Unflinching. Evidence-based.
I hope scholars, journalists, policymakers, and students engage with this report with the seriousness it calls for. Read it not just to understand where we stand, but to think about where we must go next.
Behind this report is a committed team of young researchers, analysts, and designers who worked tirelessly to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and clarity of PRISM’s findings.
Research & Authors: my gratitude to the wonderful team led by Dr. @Asifasii@mubasharizvi@azkthr Tameema Ihsan, Muhammad Suleman, Moazam Baloch and @alaizafarid. Copy editing and detailed review by @syedalizia1992. Brilliant graphic designing by Azka Tahir.
Their work reflects dedication to scholarship, evidence, and public service.
This is CSSPR’s contribution to building Pakistan’s own reporting, monitoring, and forecasting ecosystem.

Second, Dr. @Asifasii provided expert advice to the research team. Third, @mubasharizvi training the team on data collection and analysis was not only timely but also impactful. Last but not least,
I write on Pakistan’s strategic dilemma with a reckless India, more worried than outraged, about what it means to live next to a state that escalates, denies, and distorts.

#OperationBunyanulMarsoos When a militant group urges India to reject peace and promises coordination from the west, it’s not just rhetoric, it’s strategic alignment.🇵🇰 must bring this convergence of non-state actors and state hostility to the world’s attention #BLA#ProxyWarfare
The India-Pakistan crisis has shattered an old assumption: that Pakistan is the weakest link in nuclear deterrence. It is NOT. In fact, Pakistan has emerged as the more disciplined, restrained, and resolute actor in this conflict. And here's why!
#PakistanZindabad🇵🇰 restored conventional deterrence! But this was more than missiles & drones. It was a moment of reckoning.🇵🇰 long cast as the underdog, showed the world what resolve, restraint, and readiness look like. We didn’t just defend territory, we rewrote THE narrative
