True resilience isn't about avoiding stress or being unbreakable. It's about recovering quickly from adversity through mental flexibility and reframing. Shift from "why me?" to "what now?" thinking and viewing challenges as opportunities rather than persecution. #thoughtoftheday
Women with a history of menopausal hormone therapy had 2.5% greater grip strength at ages 60-64 than women who had never used it. Among women 80 and older, that gap was 14.3%.
Activity patterns added an interesting layer. Among women 65 and older, those with a history of hormone therapy and intermediate amounts of moderate-intensity physical activity had 16% greater grip strength, while those who were the most sedentary still had 14% greater grip strength if they'd undergone hormone therapy vs. not.
Menopausal hormone therapy may help preserve strength into later life, including among women who aren't very active. But of course, regular activity is crucial for strength preservation and should be done regardless of whether or not someone is on hormone therapy.
