My first publication!
Huge thanks to my supervisors and collaborators that have given me no end of guidance. Feel very lucky to be able to work on antimicrobial resistance, an issue impacting millions worldwide.

First of two pre-prints out now!
Antimicrobial resistance is a rapidly growing issue. What are some ways we could go about treating it?
In this paper, we unveil a fluctuation-driven antimicrobial eradication mechanism under varying environments.๐งต

And that's a wrap! ๐ฆ
Thank you so much to everyone that came along to the L24EEDs workshop. Brilliant work going on within microbial communities and it was great to hear about it all.
Be sure to keep in touch and we'll see what the future holds for this exciting research area!
The workshop starts today!
Looking forward to meeting everyone and hearing the fantastic talks we have lined up.

And now published in JPhys A ๐๐ฆ
If you're interested in how bottlenecks in volume impact the evolution of cooperative antimicrobial resistance, give it a read :)

If you were (rightly) resting over the holidays, you may have missed our preprint appear alongside the gifts!
We ask: how does composition-dependent cooperation with extrinsic changes (i.e. volume) impact bacterial evolution?

I BLOODY LOVE THIS CLUB!!
Whole life when I've told people who I support they've asked "yeah, but who's your prem club?"
IT'S IPSWICH TOWN ๐๐๐๐
@luke_phys "Evolutionary dynamics" by Martin Nowak goes over evolutionary games nicely. If you can frame your system as a game like this, you can determine if you will have a coexistence state (mixed strategy). Whether this coexistence has "stranger" behaviour is another question :P
๐จ FINAL CALL TO SUBMIT ๐จ
Do you work with microbial communities and / or model them mathematically?
Then come and join us in Leeds for an exciting workshop looking at fluctuations, evolution, AMR, and more!
Deadline for abstract submission is FRIDAY.
See you there ๐๐ฆ

New research by @askermatthew and colleagues at @UniversityLeeds explores the dynamics of competing microbial strains under varying toxin levels and resource abundance, shedding light on the potential for long-lived coexistence. ๐ฆ ๐
