As a founder I learnt a hard fact that regardless of the conflict of interest some will not support the project just because its 'you' ! And some will be willing to go out their way just because 'you' are involved! Feeling blessed for both.#serendipitious#gratitude
let's talk about prediction markets
i have been heads down building in the prediction markets space for the last 4 months now, built multiple production-ready products as well as gained a lot of experience in the space.
faced multiple hurdles as well as just got more buillish on this narrative. lol, i don't think it's a narrative, it's definitely here to stay.
people have been saying a bunch of shit, that it's just pure gambling and what polymarket and kalshi are doing is shitty and how tf are they even allowed to do this... i feel like these people are completely missing the point.
what's so fucking cool about these prediction/information/opinion markets is we finally have a financial tool strong enough as it is to monetize our opinions and in the best way possible.
i dont call them gambling machines or sometimes. even prediction markets feel wrong. they are truly information markets, it's the new way. they're the newspaper, new newsfeed, new inshorts.
we finally have a tool now, a financial tool as such which is the most accurate way to predict outcomes. and we can see that, the investors can see that, the people can see that, it's not for gamblers, but for traders.
altho there's still a problem, prediction/information markets are still not for common people. what's missing? verticalization. it's like web3 without chain/account abstraction, where's the UX? imagine your dad watching a match on ESPN and suddenly he gets a notification to predict which team will win? this is the UX we are missing, these markets still need to be brought to common people and this is exactly what will onboard millions and billions of people to prediction markets and will make them realize what a fucking powerful tool it is.

I'm joining @elevenlabs to build and grow ElevenCreative.
I've spent most of my career building for creators. ElevenLabs is one of the fastest-growing AI companies, and it's clear they've been principled about how they build for creators every step of the way:
โ $11M+ paid back to creators through a voice marketplace that lets you control how your voice is used and earn from it
โ A music product setting the ethical standard with 50/50 royalty splits, trained only on licensed data
โ Leading voice and audio models that support 70+ languages so creators anywhere in the world can reach a global audience and earn on equal footing
โ Partnerships with 450+ nonprofits and people with ALS, cancer, and stroke reclaim their voice for them and their loved ones
โ An all-in-one creative workspace that supports everyone from millions of creators to brands like Disney, Duolingo, and Epic Games
โ Tooling that unlocks new workflows, like enabling indie authors to publish audiobooks where the economics aren't cost-prohibitive, and so much more
Excited to work with @matiii, @lukeharries, and an incredible team that does not stop shipping. If you have feedback on the product, or are excited to join, reach out. Will be hiring for several roles.
@vibhu@themoe The mental gymnastics to thrive in the space is astounding lol . Very well summed up egocentric and confirmation bias we see around us casually favouring whatโs ours over what others do .
Every injustice needs to be named and fixed.Thatโs not dismissing anyone thatโs seeing everyone.
Iโd any day support equity over equality so should everyone
Why is it that the loudest demands for equality almost always come from the hyper privileged global minority?
When a lesser privileged someone finally makes it, and the first response from the top minority is voice is: โStop making your struggle your whole personality.โ
understanding privileges:
one of the main complaints i see online from GIRLS living in the west is that
a) they get sexualised and unwanted advancements
b) they are not being taken seriously in the business context
i will just be very clear here:
i FULLY UNDERSTAND that this is annoying. okay? now comes my counter-argument
i am asking these girls to ZOOM OUT and look at their life as a whole:
would you rather be a western girl or:
a) an average dude (25% of the world)
b) born in africa (20% of world)
c) be indian (18% of world)
d) live on $6.25 a day (45% of world)
the clear answer is NO. you don't want that. being a girl living in the west is GREAT overall with some shortcomings as named above. truth be told, most girls wouldn't even want to change positions with average guys living in the west. the only people that occasionally have it better than them are guys at the top of the hierarchy
privileges are not distributed equally in society and the world. you know who could also complain:
1) ugly people
2) people with low iq
3) people born in poor countries
4) short people
the list goes on. everyone has some disadvantages in life and everyone could complain about them if they just look at them in isolation. and TRUST ME, ugly people and people with low iq or born in poor countries have WAY LESS privileges than girls living in rich western or asian countries
now, many people will be offended by this post. they will assume i am defending guys for harassing girls, which couldn't be further from the truth. i think guys should be nice to girls, always. but that does not change the fact that many western girls are entitled when they complain about their disadvantages when they have so many advantages as well
don't forget, it's called "pretty privileges" and not "ugly privileges" or "indian privilege" or "african privilege". most western girls would be surprised how hard it is to be indian online
It stings, because many of us never had the options.Western womenโs issues are valid and so are everyone elseโs. Refusing to see it while silencing those who started miles behind thatโs where the main problem lies .Presuming our starting lines are the same as theirs is unfair .
