Today, Secretary Blinken has announced the findings of the State Department's review of atrocities reported during the war in northern #Ethiopia:
🔹all parties to the conflict committed war crimes
🔹the ENDF, EDF, and Amhara forces committed crimes against humanity in Tigray
There is no other situation 🌍 in which 6 million people have been kept under siege for almost 2 years like in #Tigray, Ethiopia. This is a health crisis. I urge the intl. community to give this crisis the attention it deserves. There is a narrow window now to prevent genocide.

What’s happening in Tigray:
1000 innocents die every 24 hours from starvation and lack of health care. #TigrayGenocide#TigrayFamine
Starvation is being used as a weapon of war in Tigray by the Ethiopian gov’t @AbiyAhmedAli.
The road to Ukraine passed through Tigray.
Two armies pulverised a small state, raped its women, starved its population. Few cared.
Every time world abets, aids, acquiesces to impunity, fails to stand up collectively to warmongers, it makes the next barbarism inevitable.
Congratulations to @WSUVoiland EECS PhD student Lusha Wang on successfully defending her PhD today! Shout out to her committee - Drs. Anamika Dubey, Assefaw Gebremedhin & Anurag Srivastava for being very involved in her work! Lusha starts at @argonne in Feb. #GoCougs#academicmom
Dr Meskelu works at Ayder Referral Hospital in the capital of Tigray, Mekelle - she recounts the difficulty in treating those in need. The region's hospitals + clinics are in desperate need of medicine & equipment. #TigrayCantWait#AllowHumanitarianAccess@GHS@PowerUSAID
HPN4Tigray turns 1 in January🎉! To mark the anniversary of our establishment we’re hosting the virtual panel: “The War on Tigray’s Healthcare & the Humanitarian Toll” on 1/9, 1-3pm EST. We’ll discuss the impact of the war on Tigray’s healthcare system & post-war reconstruction.
"Although the starvation of our people is not on your television screens, it is real. Every day, children and their mothers are perishing of hunger. Our people are dying needlessly from treatable diseases because our hospitals have no medicine." Tsadkan
