Look how much better this is! They could’ve easily hired an artist to do something awesome like this, and not be in this pr nightmare.
Heck they could STILL replace those images before the movie releases with art made by real actual artists. Hell just contact the artist below!👇
@davidtjbrennan@80Level Clearly you don't get it. It IS always a bad thing if the original voice actor (or artist for images) didn't consent to letting their voice (art) be used in training the A.I. It doesn't matter how helpful YOU find it. It's still theft and a violation of the original artist.

@davidtjbrennan@80Level A.I. can only generate a voice by using actual recordings of that person's voice. By doing that you're taking away that person's right to control what they say or sing for themselves. It's a violation of their freedom of choice, whether you use it to "replace" anything or not.
@davidtjbrennan@80Level No one has a right to use any artist's voice except that artist. Using their voice without their permission IS doing harm to them. Develop your own voice or find something else to do with your time.
@davidtjbrennan@80Level Admitting that you want to steal the voices of others so you can use them for your own purposes like some sort of fairytale villain, isn't the defense of your position you seem to think it is.
@JonLamArt Also... what kind of A.I. company CTO doesn't know what data was used to train it's product? She's either woefully underinformed for someone in her position, or she knows and just doesn't want to say.
In the US? Are you bored? Are you feeling powerless about the rampant exploitation of generative AI? Why not write your senator?

Journalists: when reporting on big new gen AI models, please ask about the training data.
If you don’t, you’re helping normalize what may be an illegal practice: training on people’s work without consent.
The models don’t work without training data. That data is often taken without permission. We cannot normalize this.
@opinonhaver You misunderstand. The argument is that using machine to do a thing for you, isn't the same as doing the thing. If you use your phone to order food from a fancy restaurant, it does not then follow that you are now a gourmet chef.
Nightshade is out!
Nightshade poisons AI models if your art or images are taken without permission, Glaze protects you from AI mimicry. It's recommended you Nightshade first, then Glaze. A version that does both is coming.

@bleuoliver @HollyPayberg Why would watching it help? It's not the quality of the content that's at issue here. The judgement here isn't about whether or not it's "good" it's about whether it should have even been attempted. (Spoiler: it shouldn't have)
@kelly_carlin@_Baylink If you haven't already, might want to reach out to @NAVAVOICES they've been on the forefront of this sort of issue.
