The voting process took place online on Saturday 5th December 2020. 9 of the 16 projects were supported, including swimming classes, youth groups and community allotments.
It was a fantastic result for everyone involved.
#SocialCapital
"As individuals alone we cannot make durable change on massive and complex issues like the ecological crisis or the current global pandemic.....We must lean into strategies that honor our interdependence." #systemsthinking#networks#socialcapital https://t.co/91ggvDfDFJ
These polls show just how well our virtual Participatory Budgeting meeting went recently, we're thrilled with the response and is great feedback for us to move forward with.
#SocialCapital#Local#Council
Here's another important example of #socialcapital in practice from 2012. The Monday Club is still going and a great example of #ChristieCommision being delivered. https://t.co/3IAN2rbDyF
Hoplr connects neighbours and stimulates offline get-togethers through requests for help, activities and circular economy. This activates the social capital in your town or city: material, knowledge, time, volunteers and infrastructure. #socialcapital#localcommunity#smartcity
To achieve meaningful #inclusion and #citizenparticipation, we need to shift the focus from the #individual to the local #community by connecting people of different background, origin, culture, language and age, uncovering the true potential and #socialcapital in neighbourhoods.
Strong #socialcapital provides a robust foundation on which to build greater #prosperity, as strong communities are the cornerstones of society, protecting people in times of need and creating a sense of belonging to which everybody can contribute and achieve their potential.
