What an absolute disgrace. A FIFA-certified referee being denied entry to the United States purely because he is Somali.
The World Cup is meant to bring people together. This is racism, plain and simple. Shameful.

@I_amMukhtar LOL, first coaches then referees. Iran have to arrive on the day and then immediately leave.
The last two World Cups were heavily compromised but at least from a sporting perspective, every team and official had the same opportunity.
No-one forced the US to host.
When i was 17 i was an apprentice on a building site, i had just passed my test and one of the painters had a black fiesta Rs turbo like this picture, so i chanced it asking for a lift to the shops at lunch time just to get a spin in an rs turbo and when we talked he said "want to drive it" i thought it was a piss take, but i guess he just seen the young petrol head! ha! i thought he was just joking but we were working in Greenock building the hss hire plant on the main road opposite the water, around 97, so he took us around the town and thrashed the life out it then took it to a back street and let me thrash it for a few quiet streets, i had only passed my test a couple of weeks, i wanted to own that car for years, he offered me it for 5 grand at the time too, probably worth 25k these days! great times though, you cant beat the buzz of a rapid hot hatch!!

Mexico paid $20 million for eight minutes in this movie. Then those eight minutes forced them to invent an entire cultural tradition.
Before Spectre, Mexico City had no Day of the Dead parade. The holiday was celebrated at home, at cemeteries, with family altars. Quiet, intimate, centuries old. Sam Mendes fabricated a massive street parade for the opening sequence, shot it with 1,500 extras in skeleton costumes across the Zócalo, and audiences worldwide assumed they were watching a real annual event.
Mexico's government had negotiated hard for the placement. Leaked Sony hack emails showed officials offered up to $20 million in tax incentives for four minutes of positive portrayal. Sony was drowning in a $300 million budget. The deal included script changes: the Bond girl had to be a Mexican actress, the villain could not be Mexican, and the city's modern skyline had to appear on screen.
Then the movie opened in 182 countries and tourists started booking flights to Mexico City for the parade.
The parade that did not exist.
Tourism authorities panicked. Visitors were arriving expecting the spectacle they saw in the film and finding nothing. So in October 2016, the government spent $500,000, hired 650 volunteers, built dozens of floats and giant skeleton marionettes, and staged the first real Día de los Muertos parade in Mexico City's history. 250,000 people showed up. They openly called it a "Spectre-style parade" in press materials.
Ten years later, the parade draws millions. Anthropologists call it the "pizza effect," where a cultural element gets exported, transformed abroad, and reimported as authentic. Mexico's most famous public celebration of its most sacred holiday was invented by a British director shooting a $300 million spy movie.
That tracking shot is doing more for Mexico City's economy every November than the $20 million they paid for it.
IS JANE STREET BACK?
$BTC has now dumped 4 times in a row right after the US market opens.
And this is happening while the stock market sits at new highs.
I really really approve of chinas approach to ecological restoration. It’s amazing how government resources and a unified vision can change the landscape, life, water, and the future for the better.
China could create one of the most productive regions on the planet, especially as other countries strip their resources for extraction based purposes and short term vision(election cycle).
If they were to take the practice to reef restoration and creating environments in the ocean, that would solve their diplomatic issues with neighbors while adding a prestige previous dynasties would be astounded by. While looking like a world leader, and the world would follow.
The most amazing projects ever created took generations to create, but that’s how you create a better future. That’s the way you do it.
I’m not sure the US can compete. Because of corporate and private interests and short term thinking.
Eventually China will outpace the US and they will have earned it 👏
So I don't make a habit of this but I feel compelled to do so given the sports news coverage.
Villa (#avfc) have won more games in European competition than any other team over the last 2 campaigns.
In that time they've beaten PSG, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Club Brugge, Feyenoord, Lille, Bologna x2, Forest, Freiburg, Celtic, Young Boys, Juventus (DRAW), Fenerbahçe, FC Basel, Maccabi Tel Aviv and RB Salzburg.
They've also beaten Citeh & Arsenal 2x in the league in that time, who have both gone deep in UCL and both have won league titles in that same 2 year period.
The fact a team like Villa has won their first European Trophy in 44 years and their first trophy in general in 30 years isn't getting the respect it deserves by the media is appalling. What Unai Emery has achieved should never be treated in such a lackadaisical way and the influencers of other clubs diminishing the competition of the final because it was Freiburg are a jealous embarrassment.
In a year where English football could potentially pickup an unprecedented Quadruple of trophies (UCL/UEL/Conference League and World Cup)...
OUR MEDIA MUST DO BETTER & OUR FANBASES MUST DO BETTER.
Wow.. no words to describe how I’m feeling right now. What a journey we have been on together and now again we can call Aston Villa EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS!! I never in my wildest dreams thought I would play for a club the size of Villa but to help lead them to a major European trophy makes me the proudest guy alive!! UP THE VILLA 💜💜💜
I wouldn't swap Unai Emery for any manager in world football.
This man is now immortal at Aston Villa.
He has changed our club immeasurably.

🚨🎙️Emiliano Martínez when asked about Aston Villa potentially facing the Champions League winners in the UEFA Super Cup:
“Honestly, inside our dressing room nobody is thinking too much about who wins the Champions League final. If you reach that level, it means you are already one of the best teams in Europe, so either way we know it will be difficult.
But I think people still misunderstand Aston Villa a little bit. They still talk about us like we are just enjoying the ride or celebrating participation. That’s not the mentality Unai Emery has built here.
We already proved in the Europa League that we can compete under pressure, against big clubs, in difficult stadiums, with everybody expecting the other team to win. And honestly, those are the moments we enjoy the most.
Of course the Champions League winners will have world class players and more experience at that level, but finals are never only about names. Finals are about personality, concentration and who handles the pressure better on the night.
We are not going to the Super Cup to exchange shirts and admire the opponent. We are going there believing Aston Villa can beat anybody in one game. That confidence is the biggest thing this team has developed over the last year.”
These dogs are inside MBR acres in the UK. @TheCampBeagle_ is raising awareness.
We need to do a Ridglen Farms on them and get these dogs out.. It needs to happen. I will happily join, even if it means being arrested, and adopt one after This shouldn’t be happening in the UK
We pulled this girl out of Ridglan Farms last week. Her frosted face really tells the story of how long she’s lived inside the facility.
We're so excited for her to experience life’s simple joys — a bed, treats, and so much love.
