@Zorpheus1313 @ERob979 @UmpireAuditor Only one of those was anywhre close to being a strike, even on a 3D strike zone.
Not good enough to be an MLB umpire.
@terribletwee@TorcityD@seamonkey10@baseballisdead_ Pretty clearly the point of the rule is that you can't disrupt a DP or avoid a putout by doing this. Blue Jays fans just can't seem to accept that sometimes umpires really hose it on judgment calls.

Even after diving head first back towards the bag he is still a good 3 feet away. Clement is 6FT tall, that means he ran at least 9 feet towards right field. The second Gunnar starts moving towards him with the ball in his glove, it is a tag attempt. It is an egregiously bad call
@dannysends@Baltimore_MJD@HiMyNameIsJC_ Yeah, but even he did, you'd still be wrong. Running toward the runner with the ball establishes the tag, no arm movement required.

@DLJackson92_@wtfshawnmills@CodifyBaseball He was out the moment the fielder moved toward him with the ball and he moved out of the baseline to avoid. https://t.co/OuLhL6dObG
@TheOttSpot@RossGrooters@ScoringChanges So just not reading the part where it says "no physical tag attempt is required"? And if he was moving with clear intent to throw why did he take 3 steps and start to reach for the tag and then pull the ball out of his glove to throw it? It is clear he was going to tag then throw
@BrianMC6301@FlagsUSN@mike_daddino Actually there is, it's just not expressly written that way. The batter becomes the runner unless the tag/ball beats him to the bag, and a tie means he wasn't beaten to the bag.
Pleased to announce we're now partnered with @TDSYNNEX and @Dell--it just got a lot easier for the data center industry to get the best fiber cable assemblies in the business.
