The Atlantis Port Company is building a series of automated offshore ports starting in the Gulf of Mexico.
What Elon did with SpaceX for the US space industry, Atlantis Ports will do for the US and global maritime industry.
The US clearly has an unhealthy dependence on port unions who last week shut down 36 ports, causing a backlog of anchored ships and threatening to disrupt the US economy - specifically the $5T of trade that goes through ports each year - and interfere with the recovery of Hurricane Helene.
Atlantis Ports solves that with privately owned ports, access to which will be sold or leased to willing governments.
The technology and design of offshore ports has already been fully developed and validated by the relevant US government agencies, there's just no urgency as projects proposed ten years ago are languishing waiting for studies or financing.
What's missing is one mad brass-balled entrepreneur to build this without waiting for permission slips, who is willing to bootstrap it with revenue from AI services, bitcoin mining, & creative bitcoin-based financing -- and build it come hell or high water.
Episode 185: Hello Claude Code
We connect OpenAgents to Claude Code, showing two chats in draggable chat windows with hotkeys for opening and closing chats.
We explain our goals for today:
1. Switch our day-to-day Claude Code usage from the CLI to the OpenAgents app
2. Develop a metric to measure agent actions per minute (APM)
3. Prepare to run the app overnight and compare the new APM to our pre-OpenAgents APM
As an added bonus, we pull in our hand tracking system from episode 176 so we can give a glowing middle finger to @AIatMeta for abandoning open source.
Episode 181: American DeepSeek?
We read & review "The American DeepSeek Project", posted today by @natolambert.
His summary: "Build fully open models in the US in the next two years to enable a flourishing, global scientific AI ecosystem to balance China's surge in open-source and an alternative to building products ontop of leading closed models."
We explain why @AIatMeta can no longer lead this -- and how OpenAgents can help instead.
From the article: "The efficiencies of open-source software style development are dramatically stronger for agentic systems than models. Models are singular entities built with expensive resources and incredible focus. Agents are systems that can use many models off the shelf and route requests depending on what’s needed. This agentic era is the opportunity open models have needed..."
We preview our upcoming StarCraft-inspired web app combining top closed models (Sonnet 4) alongside top open models (DeepSeek R1 768B).
And we comment: "I'll push back a little on the term 'American'. ... It seems more like it's the underlying ideal that matters, not the country. I hope for this to be a global effort that can engage happily plenty of people other than just Americans. And if we need a better name than American DeepSeek, we can always go with Atlantean DeepSeek."
Stay tuned!
@bsilone Nice! Perhaps good for a drone base and/or research station for the Atlantis Corps of Engineers.
@alilybit can share deets here or privately if she wants.
A.C.E. happily accepts donations!
Episode 178: Swarm Inference
"We want you to be able to sell your compute for bitcoin doing nothing but clicking this button."
We demo our new Compute network by paying bitcoin for an AI chat message, using @MistralAI's new Codestral model running on a separate computer, paid with a bitcoin micropayment over the Lightning network.
Our compute provider, running Commander v0.0.4, sees their bitcoin balance increase, paid directly into their @buildonspark wallet and able to be immediately withdrawn via Lightning invoice.
The peer communication uses Nostr via NIP-90, the open protocol for 'data vending machines' enabling 'money in, data out' for a wide variety of services.
We begin with LLM inference but can soon extend to any service added by any service provider, all permissionless & extensible.
Building on the open protocols of bitcoin & nostr means we can also interoperate easily with similar efforts like @routstrai and @inferencegrid.
"Let's build a global compute marketplace with inference and all these things, fully decentralized, using bitcoin."
Episode 176: Hand Tracking
Tony Stark commands his AI with voice and hand gestures. Will you?
We demo hand tracking in Commander v0.0.2, testable now as a prerelease alpha build.
Commander recognizes five hand gestures: open hand, flat hand, fist, two-finger V, and pinch.
We pinch-to-drag our chat window around the screen. It works!

Episode 174: GPUtopia 2.0
We announce we're rebooting our swarm compute network: previously called GPUtopia, now called OpenAgents Compute.
This will enable anyone in the world to sell their spare compute for bitcoin, simply by running a desktop app with a built-in bitcoin wallet.
We're building an updated version of our previously successful GPUtopia software that supported swarm inference, embedding, finetuning, and image generation using open models behind an OpenAI-compatible API endpoint. It begins as a payments & agent-builder layer on top of @ollama.
We'll build & beta-test this in our Discord over the next week and expect to have the first payments sent to compute providers no later than one week from today.
We phased out the original GPUtopia network 18 months ago because we had an oversupply of sellers and no compelling buy-side use cases. We predicted at the time that the logical buyers of this swarm compute would someday be AI agents.
Someday has arrived.
Episode 166: OpenAI Delenda Est
OpenAI calls on government to ban DeepSeek and other models from China.
We plan to use DeepSeek even harder now.
We add DeepSeek R1 (the full 671B model) to the new https://t.co/AzSBEOVLH8, live now for all Pro users.
R1 gives us a great analysis of our codebase, including (unprompted!) suggestions on how to circumvent model-level censorship.
OpenAgents is proudly based in the USA-- yet we are also proud to count China-based @deepseek_ai as allies on Team Open.
The hypocrites at "OpenAI" are on Team Closed. They seek to use government force to prevent peaceful voluntary interactions -- a moral evil.
OpenAI delenda est.
And we're live!

PLEASE @ us with feedback, feature requests, insults, love letters, bug reports, random screenshots and anything else 👍
Episode 165: Integrating MCP via AI SDK
We use the new https://t.co/vX2GdLsqUi to 'vibe code' an integration with Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP) using the @vercel AI SDK. It works!
We also generate a plan to add an "MCP Store" to https://t.co/vX2GdLsqUi. Coming soon!
Episode 164: The New https://t.co/AzSBEOVLH8
We demo our new agentic chat product at https://t.co/AzSBEOVLH8, available now in open beta.
We use our Coder agent to 'vibe code' a complex new feature in <15 minutes.
We explore available models, agents & tools for free & pro plans.
With this product we aim to replace the day-to-day usage of ChatGPT, Claude Code and Cursor for developers.
Over time we aim to offer drop-in replacements for ChatGPT and every other ClosedAI product -- all powered by open models, open protocols, & open money.
With "OpenAI" now advocating to ban its top open-source competitors, the world deserves an alternative.
Episode 157: Chains of Thought and Action
We define a chain of thought and action (CoTA) as a series of reasoning steps and tool use whereby agentic AI systems show both the intermediate reasoning and the inputs and outputs of actions taken.
We plan a "GitHub issue solver" agent we'll build over the next few videos to show CoTA in action. A possible algorithm:
- Given a GitHub issue, build a repo map from issue (via automated script)
- Identify relevant files (via DeepSeek R1 for reasoning, Mistral Small(?) for structured output)
- Traverse and analyze codebase (file readers, AST parsers)
- Plan changes (DeepSeek R1)
- Generate and test code changes (CI/scripts)
- Create pull request with detailed explanation (GitHub API)
When this agent works well with full transparency, why would you ever use a closed-source alternative?
If you expect your models to show the full CoT, you'd better expect your agents to show the full CoTA!
More 👉 https://t.co/4ePIin7Gho
Wow you can just announce stuff way before any details or deals are even close to finished?
Then we'll now announce Project Oceangate, our plan to build $1T+ worth of floating OTEC datacenters in international/@AtlantisPolis waters for bitcoin mining and open AI compute available to anyone.
Happy do a press conference with Trump but only if he keeps shitcoins out of the US Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. 👍
Episode 154: Agentic OSINT
Vegas Cybertruck Trump Tower China UAP gravitic propulsion-- WHAT?
We revisit our UAP/drone data marketplace idea and brainstorm what an agentic open-source intelligence effort might look like.
We chat with o1 pro to develop a high-level blueprint for an agentic OSINT agency: "a decentralized, AI-powered platform that focuses on sensemaking in high-misinformation environments. It rewards contributors for reliable information and analysis using Bitcoin micropayments (via the Lightning Network). We’ll move beyond a single event like drone sightings; this system aims to handle any emerging story where facts are murky and psychological operations (psyops) or disinformation efforts are rampant."
Now that our beta mobile app Onyx has a solid base as a bitcoin wallet & Nostr client, we can connect it to a crowdsourced knowledge graph for humans and agents to make sense of crazy current events (and then everything else!).
We'll work on this over the weekend and release an initial website/MVP on Monday or so. Stay tuned-- and stay vigilant!
📢 v0.1.0 - Bitcoin Lightning Wallet 🎉
Happy birthday Bitcoin!
Onyx beta v0.1.0 adds basic a Bitcoin/Lightning wallet supporting send, receive, backup & restore wallet via the new @Breez_Tech Lightning/Liquid SDK.
⚠️ Please DO NOT load this with any amount of real bitcoin! Max ~$1 for testing, only what you wouldn't mind losing.
⚠️ Please DO NOT load any bitcoin at all before backing up your 12-word seed phrase (click key icon top-right of wallet)
⚠️ The Onyx wallet is NOT intended to store any of your existing bitcoin -- it is primarily a way to GET PAID for building/selling agents or data, then withdrawing bitcoin to a real wallet. This is not for storing any of your current bitcoin!
⚠️ This is guaranteed to have bugs. Please report them here or on our github repo.
⚠️ There are no safety warnings in the app. Assume nothing works the way you think it should!
⚠️ We haven't yet implemented offline receives, automatic balance updating, and other things you'd expect from a full Lightning wallet. Do NOT expect this to work fully like other wallets!
⚠️ Minimum send/receive for now is 1000 sats; and the fee for the Lightning/Liquid swap is ~43 sats, so if you load with 1000 sats you'll see ~957 received
⚠️ Basically most people just shouldn't use this yet! Proceed only if #reckless
⚠️ Note the balance uses the new BIP21Q (https://t.co/un2aUH1Zwi) along with the new sat symbol https://t.co/EGTdvf9XGN -- so ₿15380 is a few dollars worth not millions 😂
Lots more work to do on this which we'll do over the rest of the 0.1.x releases.
Stay tuned for Episodes 154 & 155 where we'll make test payments to a few Onyx beta testers.
Stay tuned!

Episode 153: High-Velocity Bitcoin
We discuss bitcoin as store of value (SoV) vs. medium of exchange (MoE).
We review comments from @saylor ("[Bitcoin] is not digital currency. It is not cryptocurrency. It is digital capital."), the recent article from @frankcorva in @BitcoinMagazine ("Michael Saylor Doesn’t Understand Bitcoin"), an article from @roy_breez ("Bitcoin’s False Dichotomy between SoV and MoE"), and comments from our friend @shocknet_justin on the need for MoE velocity.
We conclude:
No, bitcoin is not just digital capital.
Yes, bitcoin is a cryptocurrency.
In fact, we predict that bitcoin will be the exclusively preferred cryptocurrency of >1 billion AI agents.
We predict this future because we intend to create it.
...beginning with our Onyx v0.1 release this week, featuring a built-in bitcoin wallet via the @Breez_Tech SDK and a Nostr client enabling censorship-resistant communication with an open & decentralized network of bitcoinized AI agents.
Bitcoin is winning as store of value. But that's just Act 1.
Will you join us for Act 2?
