Disappointed in .@UWaterlooPres re his recent announcement that lectures and tutorials are to continue as usual. There is no justification for not switching to online formats. I hope the students and faculty of @UWaterloo will encourage him to rethink his irresponsible decision.
Conversion disorder and any physical symptom purported to be caused by “psychological trauma” ==> absence of evidence based medicine. We need to stop teaching doctors that this is science, be slow to diagnose, and forthright re: medicine’s limits.
We have miseducated entire generations of doctors that when they fail to accurately diagnose, it is because their patient has a psychological problem. There is no bottom to the iatrogenic harm this scapegoating has caused. #medtwitter
At #MEAction we will keep fighting to move science forward. We will keep growing & mobilizing a community of activists. We have some exciting projects coming up in 2019. You can read about them in our end of year fundraiser here: https://t.co/6w34SQIrop

Great to see that an article on ME/CFS from January was included in the stories that shaped 2018 by @nature. A good chance to reflect on the progress of 2018 & what is needed to make 2019 far more successful.

Half of all mental health conditions start by age 14, but most cases are undetected + untreated. The consequences of not addressing adolescent mental health extend into adulthood, impairing physical + #mentalhealth + limiting opportunities in the long term https://t.co/rjSLmWUMsm
In short, there are millions of people, mainly women, who are probably in desperate need of neurosurgery but who are instead wandering the medical system, severely neglected, abused, gaslit. I am stunned.
@tagactiongroup my disability is interfering with my ability to prove I'm disabled... I need the support, I'm completely unable to work due to neuroimmune disease that affects cognitive functioning (ME) among many other things. Application already rejected twice. Who can help me?
@ODSPAction 0 income, been unable to work for 1 yr+ due to chronic illness, will not survive without support. Don't understand how DAU can claim that I am not disabled when I spend 90% of time in bed and have a letter fr Ontario MD explicitly stating that I am a disabled person?
Students with disabilities have the right to an education that allows them to meet their full potential and contribute to society. Read our NEW policy: https://t.co/b3zhJTM0jf #AccessibleEd
@djnontario I have been unable to work for over a year due to chronic illness. ODSP twice denied because I do not fit their definition of disabled despite letter from ON MD in appeal explicitly stating that I am a disabled person. Will my request for SBT hearing be rejected too?
Started losing my hair 3 yrs ago during onset stage of illness like so many of us #pwME do. Noticed I finally have a bit of regrowth. Got so excited that I made myself crash #MECFS
#MissionNotAccomplishedHHS
No treatment, no education among medical professionals, no quality of life. @SecAzar and @HHSGov to declare mission accomplished is a slap in the face to the millions suffering day in and day out with #MECFS. 4 yrs sick this month and getting sicker.
Our celebration of National Postdoc Appreciation week continues with a profile of Michael VanElzakker, PhD, who is studying brain imagery to help patients with chronic fatigue syndrome #NPAW2018@MBVanElzakker
Exctiting news! @OpenMedF has announced that over 50 scientists from all over the world will gather at Stanford from Sept. 26th to 28th to present their latest findings & ideas as part of a Working Group Meeting on the Molecular Basis of ME/CFS. #pwME
