The MYTH of #HighFunctioningAutism
(sorry, long thread; also about #ABA, but PLEASE try to read it!)
For skeptics who believe an #Autistic with a job or a profession or a child or a relationship leads a life similar to a #Neurotypical (#Allistic), please read this./1
Beautiful description of what it was like to vaccinate people in remote fly-in communities in northern Canada in the dead of winter. “As Indigenous people, we’ve never been first in line for something positive... It’s so unusual to be offered something good ahead of others.”
"You’re only allowed to take what you can use in a day, and we never wasted a dose": This Toronto doctor travelled to Northern Ontario to vaccinate people in fly-in Indigenous reserves:

In my experience, no one is ever awarded MORE #Disability accommodations (adjustments) than they need, yet practically everyone seems to have to grovel for far less than they require to level the playing field.
Being openly disabled means people think you have an unfair advantage by having adjustments.
I wouldn’t be able to participate in many things (including work/education) without these adjustments.
Never question somebody’s adjustment, the reason may not be obvious.

Interesting article but it might be different for #Neurodivergent people whose brains might be a lot clearer now that the constant (macro) exposure to “microdoses of unpredictable stress all the time” has diminished considerably with pandemic life.
Would you mind if vaccines were provided 24/7, even if it meant you might have to get your vaccine at 3 am?
I wouldn't and I think most Ontarians wouldn't mind either.
Anytime. Any place.
RT if you support 24/7 vaccinations.
Trying to prove a point.
Just read this obituary in the Guardian. I urge you to read it and try and comprehend how much tragedy one human being can have. Its touched me deeply.
