In Glen Innes, several new links have been completed, including Taniwha St & Morrin Road. We've also added in the interim Kepa Rd connection. These new links means its possible to ride from the City Centre to Half Moon Bay, nearly all off road utilising Taniwha St & Rotary Path.
In Albany, the new off-road cycleways along the Northern Motorway and Upper Harbour Motoway have added great options for getting around the upper North Shore. Great grid network in this area.
Here are some of the new routes we have added to Auckland Bike Map. Covers new infrastructure built in the last 2.5 years around Albany, City Centre, Point Chevalier, Glen Innes & Silverdale.
In the inner West, the new Meola Road cycleway is now open. Our map highlights how you can use this to get to the city via Herne Bay & Grey Lynn, via either on road or park/quiet street routes.
Thanks for your patience. I have finally added a new map update. This adds major cycleways built in Auckland over the last 2 years, such as Pt Chev & Meola Road, Constellation to Albany and Links to Glen Innes amongst many others. https://t.co/hJQWbcmrSo
@EnzerEnzer@JonTurnerNZ @pattisonian_nz this isn't an official map, just a community initiative trying to share information we've learned riding around Auckland.
Updated version of the Auckland Bike map is now live. Includes some of the wonderful new bike facilities that have opened such as the Glen Innes to Tamaki Shared Path, Avondale to New Lynn and Panmure to Pakuranga, as well as other existing bike facilities around the region.
@Ptamaxx Will look at adding those next time, though note at the same time intention isn't to show every piece of bike infrastructure, just where they link together into useful routes.
@JonTurnerNZ@EnzerEnzer @pattisonian_nz Yep that's right. Idea of that East Auckland one is to give people a longer distance route through a tough area, obviously for exploration not daily commuting.
Quick lunch mission with @bobbythekiwi to check the latest addition to the Puketāpapa Greenway Network! Links up the path outside Roskill Grammar to Hillsborough Road - awaiting a crossing to get to Monte Cecilia. Needs better signage, but a v nice ride! Thanks @AklTransport
