Our deepest homage and heartfelt tribute to brightest and bravest minds massacred by Pakistan army and its accomplices.
On December 14, 1971, marauding Pakistan army with direct patronage from local accomplices from Jamaat e Islami executed a murderous scheme to sabotage the our country’s march forward. With active help from Jamaat and other collaborators , the occupational forces systematically drew up list and rounded up teachers, writers, doctors, lawyers, journalists and other professionals from their houses in Dhaka, tortured and killed them en masse and dumped the bodies at different killing grounds, as part of nine month genocidal campaign against people of our country .
But the ironic truth is after failure to prevent the birth of our country, the successors of collaborators and Pak army, unleashed campaign to upend the very foundation of liberation war, earned over ocean of blood.
Now once again these very forces are out to use the pretext of “reset button” to undermine the ideals of war heroes, undo the glorious struggle and reinstall the unfinished goals of defeated forces: derail progress and plunge the country into an abyss.
But such crafted plots will never succeed, as these forces have failed time and again in last five decades from destroying the very ideals of our millions of martyrs.

War hero jailed for paying tribute on martyred intellectual day
Dr Yunus regime jailing citizens to dismantle country’s founding values
——
Tabiul Islam, an aged freedom fighter, chanted Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu slogan as part of paying tribute to fallen brightest minds at hands of Pakistan army and their local accomplices Jamaat e Islami on martyred intellectual day .
But the war hero who has been opposed to current war criminal backed regime was unlawfully detained by police.
This unlawful arrest of the war hero stood out as another testament of wiping out glories of our liberation war, another menace of the unelected dispensation led by Dr Yunus who is backed by war criminal backed outfit.
Attack to bar Dhaka University teachers from placing tribute on martyred intellectuals with impunity
Dr Yunus embraced war criminal backed outfits to destroy liberation war values
—
Amid total inaction of the newly appointed authorities in Dhaka University, vandalism has been carried out at office of Dhaka University Teachers Association hours before scheduled tribute marking Martyred Intellectual Day.
Ironically, back in 1971, Dhaka University teachers and students were rounded up and murdered by Pakistan Army and its local collaborator Jamaat e Islami.
Under @Yunus_Centre led regime, the student wing of Jamaat e Islam has found a new lease of life despite the denial of the outfit in committing genocide in 1971 while war heroes and symbols of liberation war were destroyed completely in a systematic manner since August 5 as part of well orchestrated plot to upend the founding values of the country

Awami League rejects Dr Yunus led administration’s effort to dismantle constitutional safeguards against national unity, inclusivity and erasing legacy of liberation war against Pakistan in 1971
---
The advocacy by Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman, appointed by @ChiefAdviserGoB led regime, for the removal of key provisions from constitution such as socialism, #BengaliNationalism, #Secularism, and the designation of #Bangabandhu #SheikhMujiburRahman as "#FatheroftheNation", emerged as another desperate state sponsored exercise aimed at dismantling existing constitutional safeguards against #communalism. And with the proposition, @Yunus_Centre led regime sought to erase the constitutional spirit of unity harmony and diversity in spirit of 1971 #LiberationWar against #Pakistan, backstabbing millions of martyrs in 1971 at the hands of Pakistan forces and their principal ally @BJI_Official.

While the Attorney general, on behalf of the unelected regime, reportedly argued that “.. secularism do not reflect the realities of a nation where 90% of the population is Muslim”, this statement, we assert, laid bare Dr Yunus led administration’s open endorsement to accomplish the toxic and dogmatic views of #Islamists who sought to destroy pluralism and syncretic culture, a menace Awami League led govt. sought to prevent from turning into reality.
This particular projection of Bangladesh as a religion based identity exposed failure of DR Yunus led regime to observe the harmonious strength of the society that overrides #fundamentalism, but brings to light the similarities between Dr Yunus led regime and other extreamist forces that seek to turn the country into a communal one.
Despite three months of failure to restore rule of law to protect #humanrights for citizens and brazen weaponisation of judiciary, these set of aggressive propositions by Dr Yunus led administration would act an unprecedented shot in arm for fundamentalists that opposed the birth of Bangladesh in aid of Pakistan army and now seeks to expand discord and division anchored on toxic mix of religion.
We also condemn in strongest term the questioning by Dr Yunus appointed Attorney General of the relevance of Bengali nationalism as this argument by AG clearly resembles the contours of Islamist forces who always campaigned for abolishing this provision.
The reported arguments by Attorney general clearly echoed the tune of extreamist forces that seek to undermine war crimes in support of Pakistan Army’s #genocide and wipe out the legacy and ethos of liberation war.
We would like to reassert that in more than five decades since the country’s birth efforts were waged by unelected regimes, like Dr Yunus, that sought to count on the support of fundamentalists and Pro Pakistan hardline elements and to appease these radical and communal demands but they had not prevailed.
Without having any public mandate, this desperate bid by the regime to alter the constitution testifies to the deep rooted nexus between Dr Yunus led regime and forces that opposed to country’s independence from Pakistan.
The Attorney General’s criticism to remove provision that defines national identity through language and his claim that “such articles fostered unnecessary divisions among citizens” marked as state sponsored assault on language martyrs who bled for recognisition of #Bangla language as mother tongue.
The International Mother Language Day was approved during the 1999 @UNESCO General Conference at the initiative of Bangladesh under Awami League led elected government, giving the world an occasion to celebrate linguistic diversity and cultural heritage.
We would like to remind Dr Yunus that the bold sacrifices of war heroes would not be wiped out with his weaponized judiciary to appease radical forces that helped him gain power.
Before this bid to alter constitution, the regime did not prevent a cultural genocide that saw arson and destruction of symbols including the likes of Bangabandhu Museum at #Dhanmondi32 and 600 structures had been built to commemorate the valiant sacrifices of war heroes. Despite growing criticism from different quarters over this systematic erasure of 1971 legacy and these acts are compared with undermining bravest fighters of the country against Pakistan Armed forces, Dr Yunus himself refused to condemn the systematic destruction.
