Well-said! Too many “sharks in the waters”, and risk of ruining research careers or at least motivation to get published rises accordingly.

Reviewers should be like "lifeguards", trying to save a manuscript. I love this advice from @BASeditors which is sent to everyone who agrees to review for them. It's not easy turning reviewers from sharks into lifeguards, but this kind of signalling really helps 🙌
