@keldonGOAT And if you think this is wishful thinking, Japan themselves โ who you laud as not having "impressive physical traits" โ have impressed last FIBA World Cup. Height matters, absolutely, but is ultimately secondary to institutions and funding. Japan, ironically, demonstrates that.
@keldonGOAT This convo again. ๐
We could be good at BOTH football and basketball. This "Filipinos are too small for basketball" notion is literally just race theory being repackaged. A guard criticized for being too little literally just won Finals MVP โ our country is chock-full of those.
@LDKRZ And sure, some Welsh did participate in colonial administration, fought in imperial wars, performed labour for imperial benefit, settled in colonies. But here's the thing: so did the Indians. Would you call them colonizers?
@LDKRZ I promise this isn't the slam dunk you think it is. To call Welshmen "colonizers" when they've spent the better part of a millennium fighting against erasure of their culture and language is lacking in nuance to say the least.
@AnfieldEdition@LFC Itโs 2026 and people are still asking for players based on World Cup hype.
Youโd think the endless number of examples from the past wouldโve been enough for us to realize itโs a bad idea.
@OleAhhNigPAT@philfanacc Modern spacing killed the point guard since Steph everybody gotta be able to shoot unfortunately lol Ricky Rubio game was a work of art
My purpose in the game is fulfilled โญ๏ธ
I lived out my childhood dreams, played on the biggest stages, won the biggest trophies. Grateful to God for all of it.
To all my fans, the clubs, my teammates and my family: this will forever be ours. Thank you.
The mission is complete. Now I step into my next calling.
More of the journey to come.
Love,
