THANK YOU TO THE VANCOUVER CROWD FOR BOOING ALEX FORMENTON TOUCHING THE PUCK AAAAHAHAHHAHAHA I LOVE IT

[stef 🤠 @stefspeaksports]

some things i would rather see as a female fan of the nhl:
-a domestic violence policy
-a sexual assault policy
-no more abusers in the nhl (see above)
-a better, less ugly women's jersey
-specialty jerseys
-free pad & tampon dispensers in the bathrooms
-improved bag policies

Remember how great Hockey Night In Canada was? Little boys could watch their favorite players, see their favorite uniforms, and in the intermission play mini sticks and dream of being those players someday. You miss that?

Now imagine the same thing, but for little girls.

Women’s hockey has been played for more than 135 years, but this will make the first time in Hockey Night in Canada’s 90 years that it takes over the broadcast.

It’s time.

“We are proud to announce the return of the iconic Hockey Night in Canada brand, building on this beloved Canadian tradition with the PWHL’s growing fanbase and providing audiences across the country with free access to world-class hockey.”

I have been following and reporting on this story for the last week on @HerHockeyHerWay. A really significant broadcast agreement now locked in for @thepwhlofficial in Canada. #HNIC #PWHL

A NEW CHAPTER OF HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA 📺

Hockey Night in Canada returns December 5 with the 2026 Walter Cup Champion Montréal Victoire taking on PWHL Hamilton at 7PM ET!

[Barbara Abramchuk @BAbramchuk]

@Devin_Heroux Very exciting. I haven't watched Saturday night hockey in years, unless the Winnipeg Jets were playing.

The Cornell University r@pist. These men drugged a young woman and took turns r@ping her. In a group chat, they took a picture of her and invited others to rape her. Only two of them were expelled the others had to write an essay. You should be outraged by the outcome. This young woman will forever be changed by what happened to her and these young men get a slap on the hand.

Hearing that the PWHL’s Thursday morning announcement at the @HockeyHallFame is regarding a Canadian broadcast collaboration that would see the resurfacing of Hockey Night in Canada, providing the league its own primetime platform weekly to air featured PWHL regular season games.

Dude bros are still suggesting that what happened in a room with a bunch of hockey players with a woman was consensual & is just normal team bonding behaviour.
I do wonder if they’re telling their boys that this is ok behaviour & nothing bad will happen as long as she shuts up?

[Kathy 🇨🇦 @gallymeroreboot]

The Hockey Canada players could break every hockey record. They could be on teams that win every cup for the next decade

It will never make me apologize for believing EM, the actual victim

It will never make me view them as good people bc they have never taken any accountability

And it will always make us see you as an asshole assault enablers if you support them

Your feelings towards this post do not matter if you’re not a victim of SA

This story is getting bigger by the day.

More than 68,000 people have signed a petition opposing the Oilers’ decision to sign Alex Formenton, and fans are also organizing a protest outside Rogers Place.

Formenton was acquitted in 2025 in the Hockey Canada sexual-assault case, but the reaction to Edmonton’s decision has been intense.

This is no longer just about whether he can help the team on the ice.

The Oilers are now dealing with a full-blown public backlash before the season has even started.
