My weeks in Copenhagen have been a personal recreation of the movie ‘Another Round’. The food and drink scene here is really only replicable in Tokyo and NYC. And it’s far more condensed and accessible here. Though madly expensive. Every meal is $150-450 a head all in.

One thing that stands out in Copenhagen is how attractive every day people are. Cashiers. Servers. Police officers. Not in a Dallas ‘dolled up / done up’ way or an nyc model way, but in a ‘this is what they took from you’ right wing blogger trope.

The Noma / Geranium restaurant complex in Copenhagen has created this Silicon Valley-esqe effect for restaurants and bars here that is truly incredible for how many great restaurants and bars of different culinary traditions there are.

The most expensive match at a Women’s World Cup is always the final, and even then the prices are strikingly modest. At the 2023 final in Sydney (Spain vs England), Category 1 tickets, the top tier, were A$120 (roughly US$80), while semi-final Category 1 seats were A$100 and quarter-finals A$80.

The cheapest tickets were remarkably affordable. Fans have reported buying tickets to that 2023 final in Sydney for just $25 USD each, and obstructed-view seats were sold at a 50% discount on top of that. Group stage tickets started at around A$20 for adults and A$10 for kids.

The real money shows up on the resale market for sold-out matches (the Matildas’ semi-final run drove secondary prices into the thousands of dollars). For context on the gap with the men’s game: 2026 men’s World Cup Final tickets can run as high as $6,730 through FIFA’s dynamic pricing, with resale starting above $7,000. Prices for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil haven’t been announced yet.
