Keep your head on a swivel today! Here's a video showing the predicted winds for the next 36 hours. Humidity will be in the 10-15% range, winds in the 20-40 mph range with gusts in some area up into the 60's. Good thing about these clear skies you'll know right away if you have a fire or don't.
If anyone has any questions for me feel free to ask and I'll try to answer what I can time permitting.
Be prepared and evcuac, don't hesitate when requested too.
Southern California Edison is warning that power could be shut off for up hundreds of thousands of customers across parts of Southern California as strong winds and dry conditions increase wildfire risk.

Red Flag Warning now in effect: Hot, dry and dangerous Santa Ana winds arrive. The extra firefighters brought in, and why your power could go out - now on ABC7 https://t.co/WjyJbj7cWl
Public Safety Power Shutoffs are now in effect across the Sierra and foothills. Power is likely to be out until Saturday morning for many communities.
30-45 mph easterly gusts are expected, some 50 mph. Northerly valley gusts towards about 35 mph.
Be fire ready!

If you see your town, you should be prepared for power to go out! 🪫
Public Safety Power Shutoffs are coming for tens of thousands of PG&E customers beginning this evening.
→ Entire counties are not going to be without power, but certain areas will.

🚩 CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER! 🚩
Dry vegetation and strong winds will increase wildfire danger across parts of California starting early Thursday morning.
A Red Flag Warning is in effect:
🔹Sierra Nevada range and foothills: 12 a.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday.
🔹Portions of Lake County: 4 a.m. Thursday to 2 p.m. Thursday.
🔹Los Angeles, Kern, and Ventura counties: early Thursday morning through 10 p.m. Friday.
A Fire Weather Watch is in effect Friday morning through Friday afternoon for the mountains of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
In portions of Lake County, a Fire Weather Watch will take effect late Thursday night, after the Red Flag Warning expires, and remain in effect through Friday afternoon.
Why does this matter? Dry vegetation can ignite easily, and strong winds can quickly spread flames into new areas, making wildfires harder to control and threatening nearby communities.
Avoid any and ALL activities that could spark a wildfire. Keep your go-bag ready, know at least two evacuation routes, and be prepared to leave if an evacuation is ordered.

Keep your head on a swivel tomorrow. This is 3pm tomorrow (Thursday) with Rancho Cucamonga showing 57-59 mph sustained winds along with other foothill communities.
Be prepared and evcuac, don't hesitate when requested too. I like this checklist from Amador Fire Protection District #RedFlagWarning October 15-16.
Dangerous fire weather is back in Southern California, with powerful winds and elevated temperatures prompting Red Flag Warnings across the region. https://t.co/2Dq3TWg8fQ
WARNING ⚠️ MASS POWER SHUTOFFS just Started.....
PG&E is cutting power to about 88,000 CUSTOMERS across 29 COUNTIES in California to keep its power lines from sparking wildfires...
Alameda, Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno, Kern, Lake, Lassen, Madera, Mariposa, Mendocino, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Shasta, Sierra, Solano, Sonoma, Tehama, Tulare, Tuolumne, Yolo, Yuba... and 6 Tribal lands.
Dry offshore winds and EXTREMELY dry brush... Fire Weather Watches are up, and a Red Flag Warning is already out in Kern County.
The blackouts could last from Wednesday night through SATURDAY... MULTIPLE DAYS with no power.
About 5,500 of the people losing power depend on it for MEDICAL needs...
And the number keeps going UP. It was 70,000 yesterday.
The predicted wind gusts in the Palisades for the fire weather event tomorrow are in the low to mid 30's. The wind gusts in the Palisades when my house was burning down peaked at just 38 mph.
There's this myth that we had hurricane force winds. Nah, man. Gusts were in the low 20's for the first 5 hours of the fire. Right now, we have both reservoirs still offline, 2 water mains just broke, and they let ALL the brush regrow around us, plus there are dozens of open timber-framed homes everywhere. Keep your head on a swivel, folks. LAPD and LASD should be doing round-the-clock patrols in the wildland urban areas to watch out for DSA street animals trying to start chaos over the next few days. Brentwood and Bel Air...BE CAREFUL.
“The whole coast of Orange County is really under siege right now.”
Powerful surf is accelerating coastal erosion in south Orange County, where officials are taking steps to protect vulnerable shoreline areas ahead of a potentially powerful El Niño.
About 9,000 cubic yards of sand is being brought to Capistrano Beach, where erosion has destroyed a parking lot, put train service at risk and left homes on the brink of collapse. https://t.co/rPiasZEj6Y
