I’m going to start creating a thread where every day I post a self care/development practice that can be done to improve confidence, stifle anxiety, and give you better overall mental health.

Rory McIlroy on the paradox of chasing success.
“I think it would be a pretty unfulfilling pursuit if you’re just chasing records and chasing results…If all you’re thinking about is winning and results, you’re playing the wrong game.”
One of the great paradoxes of performance is that the outcomes we want are rarely achieved by obsessing over the outcomes themselves.
Ironically, the less your identity depends on the outcome, the more freedom you often have to perform at your best.
If you enjoy golf or mental game lessons, follow along this weekend as I’ll be sharing more highlights and insights from the Open championship.

A man can be addicted to potential because potential gives status without exposure. You can imagine the business, the body, the money, the respect, and the woman without risking evidence. Execution ruins the fantasy because it produces data. This is why the first rep feels like an attack on the dream.
telling your brain "i know you don't wanna do the thing and it'll be very uncomfortable for you at first but you can do it buddy. it'll be fine" is actually surprisingly effective. it sounds too simple but that fuckass organ WILL listen to you if you treat it with kindness lol
Time to think on this.
It sucks to see him go. He was supposed to win it all with our young squad, but Naz's story isn't like anyone else's and should be celebrated.
Naz isn't KAT. Naz wasn't selected #1 overall. He wasn't a lottery pick. He was UNDRAFTED. This kid comes to the Wolves with zero expectations, and worked on his game to the highest extent and became an icon. Not to mention, one of the nicest dudes in the world, if you've ever spoken to him.
Signed two extensions that he truly didn't need to sign, and stayed in a state a lot of people don't think twice about spending time in.
I for one, am sad as anyone about him leaving. But man, seeing him thrive on another team getting full-time minutes, with likely the MOST Playoff experience of anyone on Charlotte... it'll be an experience that I will be watching over the years.
Naz Reid has a fan in me for life.
i'm not kidding, the US travel/tourism board (whatever that is at a Federal level lol) should sponsor the rest of that German guy's trip through the US, dude is doing insanely good PR for the South
Who you are & what you want is basically buried under a monstrous layer of emotional suppression. It’s like a massive jelly shield covering who you are. A thick stew, just covering you, 24/7. Have to chop thru it with a machete piece by piece to free yourself. Every time you crack a piece, your own light/self peaks through. U just have to keep sending it. Keep working, keep wiggling, keep getting through the bullshit. Piece by piece you get closer & closer to yourself
Avoiding confrontation is single behavior that will ruin your life
You must CONFRONT. Confront your problems, confront your avoidances, confront those behaving improperly
The only way out is through. And to blast through requires confrontation
bro to bro: if you like skinnier girls, get yourself a skinny girl. if you like thicker girls, get yourself a thick girl. if you like fitness girls, get yourself a fit girl. you are entitled to your own preferences.
but what you are not going to do bro, is date a girl who is not your type and make her feel inferior to other girls.
If you continue to waste your days now, you have no reason to worry about maintaining yourself for the future. You do nothing with your intelligence, nothing with your beauty, nothing with your time.
If you don't make use of your gifts now, what are you even preserving them for?
To continue doing nothing in the future?
This is the miserable irony of the hoarder.
Always collecting; concerned about loss; anxious over expiration.
In the end, they realise they held it all.
But because they never used it – it was as good as nothing.
This always gets me:
“The most valuable of all education is the ability to make yourself do the thing you have to do, when it has to be done, whether you like it or not.”
- Aldous Huxley
If you run a full bottleneck analysis in your life and actually get to the bottom of the thing (no matter how many layers deep) - the last bottleneck/domino will always be an emotion you're resisting. That's it. That's how funny and wonderful the actual human condition is.
People are not "winners" or "losers"...they're "choosers."
Every day you wake up, you get to make decisions that shape the course of your life.
Choose intentionally. Build yourself. Expand.
Become something & someone you are proud of.
If you use your height, your looks, your finances, or your status as reasons to avoid talking to the women you like, you unconsciously believe you are unworthy of love at your core
And if you resent women for “only liking successful chads,” realize you will never attract a truly good woman until you heal your self-hatred, scarcity, and projection
