@levelsio Yea but if you rented that same place for 30 years and the price never increased at all (which is unlikely) and you paid $1944 (again unlikely for a $1m place) then you would also lose 700k - if you pay $3500 (more likely) then you will lose 1m and have no asset after 30y
@dhh Did you evaluate something like AWS outpost when you were comparing? Curious if owning your own hardware but using the service layer from AWS could work at your scale?
@mnbbrown But In seriousness - there is always a time lag between api features and the official client - plus weird ass data mapping and transitive deps. Usually you only need a subset of the functionality- often just easier to throw fetch + your own model at it.
