I had the honor of being interviewed on @MattPaynePhoto's wonderful podcast! I had a nice time talking about my approach to nature photography including topics like curating my work on my website. You can find it on your favorite podcast app or by going to the link tree in my bio
"Caring for Life"
2021
The title refers to one of my favorite books - "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance". One of the reasons the book is so impactful to me is because the main character cares so much about high-quality craftsmanship for its own sake.
@RemarkableArt Nice! It has a lot of nice elements. The bright background draws my eye away from the more interesting bottom half of the image. I found myself wanting to crop in a bit and burn a vignette of the brightest parts on the edges of the frame.
"The Unexpected"
2021
An abstract-but-not-really image I made in the backcountry in the middle of the day. It's composition and colors are odd to me, but it kept catching my eye every time I came near it in my lightroom library.
but more and more I'm learning to love the imperfections in nature that make it special. Humans can make "perfect" things all they want, but they'll never make it imperfect in just the same way nature can. This is the way!
"This is the Way"

Time to release some new work! The best way to see it all is via my non-sales-y newsletter, so please sign up for that via the link in my bio if you'd like to see all of the images. I also include news and interesting links to other photographers' work
I think the image is somewhat unique to me because of the conditions that led to the water level and patterns. Lastly, I did very little editing to it. I could do more cloning to make it cleaner, or I could do some minor stretching to make the lines line up better, (continued...)
