@PHChess Didn't magnus do the same with pragg in 2023?🙂
Even if it was Fischer random....players would have tried to make a draw. Its been a long even and obviously both of them are put of ideas and energy.
FIDE should NOT make this referral at this point. They are deeply tainted. It has to come from the USCF. Tomorrow, the most important people will be at a funeral. This can wait two weeks.
As I have already said, FIDE can seek legal advice to begin criminal charges against Kramnik, if they want to show they are serious.
What is FIDE's last two actions in this matter?
a) This statement: https://t.co/llNuF1kFIP
b) Introducing a change to the blitz rating system, aimed specifically at Bortnyk and Naroditsky, specifically because of "farming" accusations by Kramnik.
The Ethics Commission will pass judgement based on the complaint they receive. The idea that the people who drafted the statement above think they are the right people to draft this complaint is far worse than Sutovsky putting his foot in his mouth.
The last time the FIDE President was involved with the FIDE Ethics Commission, was to get himself out trouble. We cannot allow them to control this matter in politics as usual.
@USChess have to urgently inform FIDE that the wrongful actions of a Russian player against an American player, is not something a Russian controlled FIDE Council shall draw up the charges for. This falls to the family, @CLTchesscenter and the USCF.
Yeah, my CEO shit the bed and now I have to do something kind of post. I hope this comes to a better conclusion than, "we investigated to our best and we found that we are useless"
Human life and dignity are fundamental values shared by all of us. While we hold deep respect and love for the game of chess that unites our community, these values must always come first.
In recent times, public debate within the chess world has too often moved beyond the boundaries of acceptable, harming not only people’s reputation but their very well-being. When this happens, discussions can turn into harassment, bullying, and personal attacks — a particularly serious concern in today’s environment.
The chess community has long respected the achievements of GM Vladimir Kramnik, and his contributions to our sport are undeniable. The same high standards that accompany great achievements, however, also confer a responsibility to uphold the principles of fairness and respect and to be ambassadors for the sport.
Therefore, I, along with the FIDE Management Board, will formally refer all relevant public statements made by GM Vladimir Kramnik — both before and after the tragic death of GM Daniel Naroditsky — to the FIDE Ethics and Disciplinary Commission for independent consideration.
At the same time, I reaffirm that FIDE will take appropriate action in any case where a lack of respect, public harassment, or bullying is observed within the chess community. We all share responsibility for ensuring that our sport remains a space of integrity, respect, and humanity — values that must always prevail over hostility and division.
Arkady Dvorkovich (@advorkovich), FIDE President
@EmilSutovsky@AnnaCramling It's a common knowledge that Kramnik unnecessarily scrutinised his movements even after providing whatever Daniel could but Kramnik never agreed to anything for no absolute logical reason.
