Built at a cost of ₹19,650 crore, it has an annual passenger handling capacity of 9 crore passengers and an annual cargo handling capacity of 3.25 MMT.

#WATCH | Mumbai | On PM Modi to inaugurate Navi Mumbai Airport, CIDCO Vice Chairman & Managing Director Vijay Singhal says, "The second airport of Navi Mumbai International Airport will be inaugurated by our PM Modi on October 8. He will land at Navi Mumbai International Airport at 2.40 pm. First, he will inspect the terminal building, then he will address a public meeting at the airport premises. This airport is built on 1160 hectares. It has two runways and four terminals. Its total capacity is to handle nine crore passengers per year, and its cargo handling capacity is 10 lakh tonnes... Mumbai's capacity is approximately 50 to 55 million passengers per annum, while ours will reach approximately 90 million passengers after the completion of all four phases. Combined, the capacity of our MMR region will reach 150 million passengers per annum... It has four terminals, all of which will be interconnected. If your flight is from T4, you can check in at T1 and travel from T1 to T4 via automated people movers like APM. These are driverless trains that will be underground..." (04.10)
