@SouthernKeeks I think people who think America = The Federal Government feel patriotic only when their "side" is in office. The rest of us think of America differently. We're patriotic regardless of who leads the federal government (and I include Congress).

Exactly. I take exception to the statement that [whoever is president] "runs" the country. That's about the most counter-Constitution assertion I can imagine. The president is empowered to lead the executive branch, one piece of one echelon of government in American. Americans run American.
