We had the honour and privilege to host the President of CNOOC Uganda Limited this morning. We discussed issues of mutual interest between the two parties.
"At @UNOC_UG , we are partnering through the Climate Resilience Programme to address greenhouse gas emissions. Our initiatives include planting 40 million trees, with 2,500 already planted at the Uganda Petroleum Institute and plans for 4,000 more at the Kabaale Industrial Park in Hoima.
We strictly adhere to ESIA policies for all our projects, ensuring environmental sustainability. It's important to recognize that energy is crucial for development. While countries like Germany and the UK continue to consume significant fossil energy, Uganda's petroleum projects remain viable and essential for our growth." Says @kamuntu_gilbert - @UNOC_UG
