Let's face it, Trump's surrounded by yes men who are afraid to speak truth to power. It's plagued his whole cabinet. And it’s the American people paying the price of his failed leadership.
Right wing media scrambling to reframe this is almost as satisfying as the incident itself. @IngrahamAngle@seanhannity@JesseBWatters I pray you find integrity soon.
Sen. Eric Schmitt was so overzealous to try and get Jack Smith, a good and honest man who has done great work, that Schmitt embarrassed himself by accusing Smith of going to the wrong basketball game.
You can't make this stuff up. And right wing media will pretend it never happened.
In a bid to frame Jack Smith as a liar, Sen. Schmitt (R-Missouri) accused the former special counsel of perjuring himself after he denied attending an Atlanta Hawks game on Feb. 3, 2024.
Smith had attended an University of Iowa Hawkeyes game that day. https://t.co/FYfGt4TOo7
Hawley: I hope Jack Smith goes to jail.
Hannity: You did such a great job. Cruz did a great job. Kennedy did a great job. Graham did a great job. Everybody on the committee, well done.
This is a parable about how the false conspiracy racket works.
@SenEricSchmitt asks former special prosecutor Jack Smith if he was in Atlanta at a Hawks-Warriors basketball game, on 2/3/24.
Smith says no.
Schmidt then flamboyantly flashed an email from a Smith staffer reporting that Smith would be attending the "Hawks game" that day, and accused Smith of perjury. Called him a "dirtbag."
Turns out Schmidt's Perry Mason moment was a bust.
When Smith finally was given a look at the email, he recalled that that he did attended the Iowa Hawkeyes at Maryland Terrapins women's game that day to see Caitlin Clark play. The Hawkeyes were the "Hawks" referenced in the email.
Records show that the game in MD did take place on that day.
No apology from Schmidt, a former prosecutor.

🚨 Hanson: Trump’s economic message is NOT getting out
@VDHanson: “5% third quarter growth, record low poverty… and 140,000 new jobs, it goes on and on.”
“They’re not getting that message out.”
Democrats are going to win big this November. Even more important, we're going to deliver results that make the American Dream real again for hardworking families.
@TheDemocrats don’t fall into the “us vs them” trap & def don’t take the bait from @realDonaldTrump and @JDVance- focus on a future of optimism and integrity. Don’t get sidelined or distracted by their lies and distortion. Focus on commonsense policies that impact most Americans
Like many, I’m exhausted from this administration’s divisive and corrupt incompetence. But to change the course, Dems need to ignore their lies and attacks and focus on optimism, unity, and balanced policies to bolster the economy and restore our reputation at home and abroad.🇺🇸
