not an easy decision...all I can think of is my DI's favorite phrase in boot camp "Don't be the one!"
The last thing a new event needed was to have something terrible traced back to them...can you imagine the new story

Hello all,
Because of COVID-19/Corona @WWHackinFest San Diego will be going all virtual this year. We will not be doing the ground-based event. We will be sending an email shortly. All the talks, training and MetaCTF will be virtual.
If you can't wait for us in October we highly suggest you visit our neighbors to the south. They put on a great event last year and still have some tickets for sale. However, we suggest that you do not make any late night court house runs.

Announcing 2020 Keynote @strandjs
If you recall John was here around 5000ish reported breaches ago, sure seems like it was just yesterday. Anyone taking bets on the number of breaches between this announcement and Johns talk in October?
Need an idea for a gift tonight for that someone special?
No problem fam...#bsidesmsp2020 ticket sales are live. We can't think of a better way to honor a martyred saint.

We're going to try something a little different this year. Venue is booked a little outside of the downtown's (i know, i know), but it will have pretty views. More announcements soon.
Unfortunately Lee will be unable to join us for the @WWHackinFest (finals or midterms that week, we'll figure out a different prize) so congrats to Todd, our runner up who confirmed "hell yeah I'm going"
283 in attendance over both days not counting volunteers, speakers, sponsors
27% overall no show rate (sorry 180 on the wait list, next year will be better)
59% student no show rate (hey kids, the networking was free)
$1120 raised for charity so far (we still got hats to sell)
CPE'S
In the past most places have been fine with a copy of your ticket or a pic of your badge. We'll put together some kind of certificate if you run into any issues. just let us know.
Thanks
