@LocalMusicEarth@TheDunkCentral@FOS Billionaire owners who got their money outside of nba ownership is also a pretty new phenomenon. Historically most were family businesses with the franchise value increasing exponentially, hence why many are cashing out now
@LocalMusicEarth@TheDunkCentral@FOS I agree about Mark. Boston has stuck to the plan so far. We’ll see how long Wyc lasts and what happens after he’s gone. I think you’re Mr. Fans burner or staff. The situations are not that different. All billionaires are business guys. pay $6B, you eventually wanna run the team.
@LocalMusicEarth@TheDunkCentral@FOS No drop off other than losing in the first round because of C depth. And saying the owner of the team made no decisions is incredibly naive. I do agree that 28/30 owners would’ve cut cost in his shoes too. Which is my point that the Cs are not “different here”
@LocalMusicEarth@TheDunkCentral@FOS To his credit, Wyc went all in for 4 years got his title, then like Cuban, cashed out to an investor, cut cost, and is staying around to help the transition (so did Cuban). You say he’s a fan and I believe that but he has to prove he’s willing to spend and as good as Wyc
@LocalMusicEarth@TheDunkCentral@FOS We don’t know yet what Mr. Fan will do. All he’s done so far is (understandably) cut cost and you said yourself Wyc is still CEO. He won’t be forever then we’ll see
@LocalMusicEarth@TheDunkCentral@FOS A whole season before the super maxs for Tatum and brown kicked in and it got too expensive. cs under Wyc were one of the best run orgs in sports. Bc of bball Ops, not bc willingness to spend. Only LAC and GS have shown willingness to outspend consistently
@LocalMusicEarth@TheDunkCentral@FOS 4* and this has nothing to do with the 6ers. You said #DifferentHere and then changed your argument to “no team would’ve paid that luxury bill”. Blame the CBA but the Cs won a title then blew it up to save $$ a year later. That’s what Cuban is talking about. Celtics no different
@LocalMusicEarth@TheDunkCentral@FOS Relax. I’m saying we don’t know if they still would’ve dumped as many guys if they didn’t sell the team or if Tatum didn’t get hurt. Maybe you’re Wyc on a burner and you do know that, but the public does not
@LocalMusicEarth@TheDunkCentral@FOS We don’t know that but maybe. Tatum Achilles a factor too. Not criticizing the Celtics - it’s understandable. But it’s not a shining counter example to what Cuban is talking about: running the team like an investment vs optimizing winning. They made the team worse to save $$
@bballilluminati@DarthAmin The sixers also picked third, so even if they knew Danny wanted Tatum, they had to get above the lakers to be sure they got fultz if “everyone else had him at #1”
@Tjonesonthenba The majority of the tickets are not resale. sold directly from the team. The games are on a Fri and a Sun and the cities are 90 miles apart. Knicks have more fans and their fans have more money. Unless the team bans purchases by zip code there’s nothing the fans can do about it
