@HaloTerritory@Mtrumbo44 Pro answer. Torii was great player and great culture guy. You could argue that the timeline for culture concerns started when Arte opted not to bring Hunter back and got Hamilton instead.
@ABralder@MessianicAge10 Sure you could continue to source your talking points from disingenuous misleading sources or you could actually examine LDS theology in good faith. Then maybe then you could reconcile that LDS theology clearly maintains the characteristics of God that you cited
@JesseHughesNC “Ah here is a large impactful group that aligns with our philosophical ideologies. What a great opp to build some kinship against the growing tide of unbelief. Wait! they reject our biblically questionable concept of the essence of God that we got from a 4th century Creed!”
@johnddavidson Mainstream Christianity is so unpracticed at defending their faith against other Christians that they develop lazy hubristic arguments like this one. “We have the numbers so burden on you” no problem my guy. This is something we are well practiced at.
@AurelianSpeaks Respect for Truth taught in other Christian traditions while still maintaining critique for corrupted teachings reconcile. I can respect other Christian traditions’ faith and covenants to follow Jesus Christ while rejecting false teachings like the Nicene Creed.
@Catholic_Bob Unfortunate it’s gone that way. Just a shame. With the current cultural flow of Christian popularity just a missed an opportunity to build kinship with people of faith that really do share many primary beliefs in the face of growing unbelief and selfishness. But…
@gaptoothdummy The cool thing about spiritual evidence is that it can’t be transferred, only shared. My belief is mine. I have no obligation or interest to reconcile yours.
@JoshuaHerr6 Ironic cause I’ve thought it counterproductive how mainstream Christians disparage and purposely mischaracterize LDS beliefs. Sacrificing an opportunity for legit kinship and a significant ally in exchange for some mental security seems more like “just about the feels”
@RobbBrunansky It’s always wild to be that the people that consider LDS theology exclusive will boldly claim that a condition for grace and salvation is knowing God’s physical form.
@HeatherACofer You have a fundamental misunderstanding of spiritual evidence/ epistemology. The first part of your critique is an atheist talking point and not biblical. Spiritual truth is obtained via personal spiritual evidence. It cannot be transferred only shared.
@EricRSammons Sounds like you would be surprised to see how often and in what way what you consider “core beliefs” are covered in regular daily LDS teaching. I dare you to attend church, watch a general conference, read teaching manuals (we update every year) and see for yourself.
@Toneskeee Higher rates of weekly church attendance, centralized and annually updated curriculum, seminary, institute, missions, constantly responding to other Christian’s who challenge doctrine. Nah. We’re born defending the faith and well practiced at it.
