Have you ever tried to look at yourself from a distance, looked at your pictures taken by others or listened to recordings of your own voice...all the while trying to figure out if you would like yourself if you were to meet you? Have you? Ever?
Thank you for serving Odisha for 25 long years, @Naveen_Odisha. For better or worse, it won’t be the same without you. Your poise will be missed.
Reopen your boutique or start a nursery, maybe that closet will be easier to walk out of now? Go well, Sir.
Imagine the new Odisha CM touring states during assembly elections, engaging in communal politics, being uncouth like the rest of them. More than his grace, it’s Naveen’s restrain that’ll be missed. Brace yourself, Odisha; it’s going to be a long night.
I’m that b***h that has got my BF invested in #OneDayNetflix when he hasn’t seen the film or read the book. Getting that MF back for knowing about The Red Wedding and not preparing me. 🚲 🍷
I don't like posting personal stuff, but this merits a post:
The only man I've ever loved is getting married the day after tomorrow. For the longest time I was in denial, then angry, then in some strange form of bargaining. How could he choose to get arranged married to a stranger because of cultural differences, I'd rage. How could he love me, and marry another woman, I'd cry endlessly.
For the longest, despite the unfolding events, I thought it wouldn't happen. For the longest, I waited.
Till today, when I saw the first few photos of the first few ceremonies. He looks handsome, calm. She looks so very happy. Then even have a sweet wedding hashtag, that I am sure he cleverly came up with. :') Despite myself, I am glad for them.

Love is a despite concept, I'd told him when we'd first met—a quote he'd repeat back to me again and again.
Turns out it isn't. It couldn't survive stubbornness and rigidity.
But hope? Hope was a despite concept.
Until today. Until it isn't.

What of my heartbreak? Well, to quote Faiz,
"और भी दुख हैं ज़माने में मोहब्बत के सिवा,
राहतें और भी हैं वस्ल की राहत के सिवा."
This too shall pass. :)
Heart, be steady.

I know I am oversimplifying.
