Some bittersweet news to share: I’m stepping down as CEO of @10xTravel at the end of the year and saying farewell to my public-facing role with the company.
Travis will be taking over as CEO, and will be responsible for charting the next phase of 10xTravel’s journey along with Emily, Matt, and the rest of our wonderful team.
This is something I have been thinking about for a while now. It was time to take a step back, take a breath, and enjoy some time with my girls before they stop thinking I’m the coolest guy in the world.
I'll still own 10xTravel and am committed to seeing it continue to grow. But will be doing so quietly from a distance to give the team space to lead without me.
I won't be on the podcast, attending meetups, or actively participating in the Facebook group. As much as I have loved doing all of these things, I know that this is the best path forward both for 10xTravel and for myself.
Building 10xTravel has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. You helped me turn a passion into a company and a community that has exceeded my wildest dreams, and I will be forever grateful for it.
I am excited to watch where Travis and the team go in this next chapter for 10xTravel, and I hope you are too.
Thank you for the journey of a lifetime.
Happy Travels,
Bryce

@sweatystartup I generally like your work Nick, but this is common (lazy) take from many who tend to think of it as being adjacent to extreme couponing. The ROI is higher than many other activities that people do on a regular basis. And it’s not just monetary.

And of course I just get this text from a friend. Have to imagine thousands of similar texts are being sent right now. Not that Cap One can just pause such a big campaign, but they are probably less than pleased with Ticketmaster right now.
A thought: Are the Capital One Ads with Taylor Swift causing brand damage now? Seems like most would see them and think “yep I got screwed in that “exclusive” pre sale, thanks for nothing”.
