@frayedform It would be cool if you could get an entire heart container for certain hard sidequests and regular pieces for other things. In the original Zelda, there were no pieces, just containers. Finding one felt great in that game and I’d like to see some middle ground in the concept.
A lot of game franchises that people deem as convoluted and impossible to get into would have that issue go away completely if any of you just fucking played the first one
@TheRedGoner Unfortunately DQ1 and 2 are actually what the “I don’t like jrpgs cuz of grinding” folks think the average jrpg is like lol
Great music and exploration crammed into NES carts, but the encounter balance isn’t there yet.
Everything costs way too much money in the old versions too.
@KILLER_OUTLET@flurryfrenzy It’s fun but it does inherit the problem that Zelda LA/OoS/OoA have where you lack a swing arc that hits the lower right quadrant (try attacking facing up and also right and you’ll see they have the same coverage).
Not a huge deal since you have 8-way shot with the cannon mode
@Hyperspider2021@DUSKdev Not as deep as you’re describing, but there’s a DS rpg called Avalon Code where you have a magic book that records things like items and enemies. You can mess around with stuff to change its properties (e.g. remove the “Rusty” from your Rusty Sword).
Neat game
Today we have a very special interview with legendary composers Michiru Yamane and Yoko Shimomura exploring, in unprecedented depth, their classical music roots and formative influences. https://t.co/Vu2fM4ZD2B
@regularaugust Shoujo was beloved by everyone in my circle back then. People were doing weird shit to their belts to look like Fruits Basket’s Kyo.
After seeing the butchered Cardcaptors, reading Tokyopop’s CCS manga run felt like sticking it to the man somehow.
Minnesota has just become the first state to ban prediction markets.
Gov. Tim Walz has signed a bill that makes operating or advertising prediction markets a felony.
This sets a major precedent for those seeking to regulate or ban Polymarket, Kalshi, and other sites.
@TarekBoy4@Rechardart I still played Quality in ER since there are simply too many weps to try out for me not to, but it’s a pity that so many “quality” weapons are secretly DEX weapons until very high levels. Maybe they just didn’t want Quality to be the de-facto way to play, but I’m indecisive lol
@Rechardart I love Quality builds and foregoing magic, using a bow if I really need ranged utility. I always pick a Knight for my first character and go medium armor, sword + shield with a spear and bow as other weapon slots.
I use magic to blast through the game on subsequent runs
@Roberto_Loux@Rechardart Could be different now than when I played, but the majority of “quality” weapons are better off focusing either DEX or STR, until you get to very high levels (200ish unless you are uninvested in VIG etc).
The only exceptions I remember are Bloodhound Fang and the Wheel..?
I recently inherited my grandfather's old manual drill press so on the weekend I hooked it up to play Puzzle Bobble/Bust-A-Move. I'll share a gameplay video that contains another twist soon.😉
