The Ramanandi warrior-monk Govindananda “correcting” the king Pratap Singh Kachvaha of Jaipur after the latter remarked that it is Kali they owe their victory over Alwar to:
One of the longest running intra-Rajput clan feuds was between Kangra Katochs and Kahluri Chandelas, which spanned for >1000 years, starting around 700 CE; the rivalry between the two even acted as a catalyst to Sikh-Gorkha, Anglo-Gorkha and at one point Anglo-Sikh conflicts.
After Dhian Singh, the Rajput vizier of Lahore Durbar and elder brother of Maharaja Gulab Singh, was assassinated, his wife, a Nurpuri princess, appeared in public for the first time, demanding the heads of the murderers, which were dutifully brought to her by the evening.
The legitimacy of the Gorkha rule in W. Himalayas rested on: upholding caste relations and protection of religious communities, patronage of choṭā cār Dhām and local devotional centres, installation of an image of Kālī and buffalo sacrifices, and Shah’s claim of Rajput descent.
@entropied2223 are you saying vatakas were brahmins ? ye koi proof hai uska ?
but if you are saying guptas were brahmins why were they marrying their daughters to Kshatriyas ?
ur basically saying that marrying daughters to kshtriyas was widespread among brahmins ?
This is absolutely not the case. What Patanjali is referring to refers to the frowned upon practice of producing and selling idols of deities which he implies was introduced by the Mauryas under their rule.
The verse, written in Shunga period calls the Mauryas heretics.
@VedicWisdom1 Those aren't even Patanjali's words, it's part of "Udyota", a commentary by Nagojibhatta/Nagesh Bhat on the Mahabhasya.
Originally Patanjali here was expanding on Panini's Ashtadhyayi.
The discussion is about the "-ka" suffix and why its mention isn't there in case of Mauryas.
Maratha historians writing ‘sympathetically’ about Rajputs is one of the biggest lies I’ve ever read. Even historians commissioned by Maratha Royals themselves admit how they have always distorted facts and ignored details with the sole intention of painting a better picture of Maratha History than that of the Rajputs, and how this has resulted in Marathas developing a false sense of superiority, and hatred against us, even though they themselves claim Rajput ancestry. They also comment how it’s pretty ironical that even though Marathas are themselves guilty of falsehood, they often accuse others as ‘𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙧𝙨, 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙨, 𝙪𝙣𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚’ and so on.
But yeah, this NCERT controversy has been overall beneficial as it has exposed the propaganda which Marathas, backed by RSS-Hindutva, have been trying to impose on entire India since decades. Earlier, it was just Rajputs or Kannadigas calling out Marathas for their fakery, but now we see history-enthusiasts from every corner of the nation standing up against Maratha-imposition. People have gradually started realising how this blatant imposition of Maratha history poses a threat to their own, and how great kings & emperors of their respective regions are being sidelined for the sole purpose of glorifying some self-proclaimed ‘defenders of the faith’ ….
The Rajput States were the last to come under treaties with the British. You should know that. When the treaties with the Peshwas go back to the early 1700s.
Don't make us go after Gangu Brahmins and their love for every random anti-Hindu group like Sangh, Congress, Arya Samaj.
The so called GC Activists will try to be friends with the Rajputs and pretend to be their well wishers till 2017 UP Elections to have Yogi removed, don't forget they are the same people who have been the most abusive towards Rajputs.
Never Forget, Never Forgive...
@politicalshiva@__rootX@hindupilled@thethakurforce Fool, the Sodha state was a jagir, not a princely state. It didn't have autonomy to choose its own fate. Aur itna Parshuram Banna hain to milo kabhi zameen pe; ye sm pe kya bakchodi lagate rahte ho? Saari akad nikal ke zammen mein jot denge.
Hanut Singh Rathore, Sagat Singh Rathore, Saurabh Singh Shekhawat, all had the calibre to become Generals. Where did it go wrong? Did they fall short, or did the system fail to recognise exceptional merit? Hard to believe it was the former.
A Shiva temple at Parmal tank, Ajaigarh fort. A label inscription inside the sanctum recording the legend "Śrī-Kīrttijayeśvaraḥ" suggests it was erected by Kirttivarman Chandela in the 11th century. Another record from the 13th century on the round entrance of the temple suggests it was renovated by Suhaḍadeva of the Śrīvāstavya family that served as hereditary ministers to the Chandelas. 1/n
