Anyway, today I subscribed to the @51stnews for a year instead of cancelling a subscription elsewhere. I hope that more support for local journalism creates space for some of those reporters

Situations like the Washington Post highlight the tension that as a consumer it feels like my only accountability recourse is to cancel my subscription, but that just puts existing reporters further at risk and validates management's "business" driven decisions
