The Liberal Health Minister told me she needed to be with the police to visit a drug consumption site because there were "people all over the street" outside it. Yet she insists these sites don't pose a threat to public safety.

The Liberal government continues to approve these kinds of sites across Canada, including one in Kelowna that is across the road from a daycare center. The Minister might be able to get a police escort, but parents can't.

Something has gone wrong in how this country is run, and 2025 drove it home. Parliament just wrapped up one of its least productive years at the exact moment Canadians needed leadership, urgency, and results. Instead, we got process, posture, and excuses.

This piece lays out how decision-making in Canada has drifted away from democratic consent toward insulated, elite management. Policies are declared “necessary,” accountability is buried in regulation, and the people making the calls rarely feel the consequences.

Across housing, healthcare, immigration, productivity, debt, and regulation, the pattern is obvious: more spending, worse outcomes, and endless self-congratulation. Decline is managed, not fixed. Temporary measures quietly become permanent. Critics are dismissed, not answered.

This is EXACTLY why the Liberal gun grab isn’t working!

A known firearms trafficker who had already been caught with 46 illegal guns was released on bail with an ankle monitor, cut it off, skipped sentencing, and went right back to trafficking guns and drugs. Police later seized a loaded illegal handgun and cocaine intended for trafficking.

Confiscating legally owned firearms does nothing to stop criminals who smuggle guns, traffic drugs, ignore court orders, and cut off ankle monitors while out on bail.

Conservatives believe real public safety means cracking down on illegal gun and drug trafficking, fixing a broken bail system, and holding repeat violent offenders accountable.

Law-abiding Canadians are not the problem. A justice system that lets criminals walk free is.
