I’m waiting for a usual day without having a thought of your return, like the old days, and from a random street I catch you with a heartfelt smile calling me by a newly invented name. Miss your guidance Kopag 🤍

Today, June 28, marks seventeen years since the enforced disappearance of Dr. Deem Mohammad Baloch, a senior leader of the Baloch National Movement (BNM).
Seventeen years is an unbearable period for any family. For nearly two decades, his loved ones have lived with uncertainty, pain, and the denial of even the most basic right to know his fate.
His daughter, Sammi Deen Baloch @SammiBaluch , has courageously dedicated herself to the peaceful struggle for the recovery of her father and all forcibly disappeared persons. Instead of receiving justice, she continues to face threats and intimidation aimed at forcing her to abandon her human rights work and her campaign for her father’s return.
This once again demonstrates a harsh reality: in Pakistan, human rights, justice, and democracy remain absent for those who challenge state abuses. Demanding information about a disappeared family member is treated as a crime, and human rights defenders are threatened for speaking out.
It is precisely this reality that has shaped the Baloch National Movement’s political philosophy. BNM believes that the Baloch people cannot secure their fundamental rights, dignity, and freedom under Pakistani occupation.
Throughout these years, the movement is continued despite immense sacrifices. We believe that truth and justice ultimately prevail. The Baloch people’s cause is rooted in these principles, and we remain committed to our peaceful struggle until our aspirations are realized.
Protest
The family members of detained BYC leaders are going to organise a protest rally in Quetta, Balochistan, against the unjust imprisonment of BYC leaders and the life sentences given to Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Shah G. Sibghatullah.
We request all human rights organisations, civil society members, political activists and people who stand for justice and rule of law to join this peaceful protest and raise their voices against injustice, unlawful detentions and the violation of fundamental rights. Your presence will be a message of solidarity with the families and all those affected.

Date: 29 June, 2026

“I was 10 years old at the time.
June brings the tormenting flashback in its worst forms. That day 17 years ago robbed me of my childhood, bringing me to the streets to protests for the release of my forcibly disappeared father – or at least for his family to finally learn his whereabouts.
Over time, my father’s disappearance became not only an emotional absence, but an administrative one. It followed me into every form, every office, every space where identity must be complete.”
Seventeen years on, @SammiBaluch writes about the enforced disappearance of her father, Dr Deen Mohammad Baloch, and the pain, struggle and hope that continue to define their fight for justice.

Paank, the human rights department of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), issues this formal statement to condemn the ongoing, state- sanctioned campaign of collective punishment targeting the family of Dr. Naseem Baloch, Chairman of the Baloch National Movement.
Geneva: A delegation from the Foreign Department of the @BNMovement_ and its Human Rights Department, @paank_bnm, is currently at the @UN under the leadership of @DrNaseemBaluch.
The delegation has attended numerous side events and met with several Special Rapporteurs, highlighting the gross human rights violations in #Balochistan. Particular attention was drawn to the policy of collective punishment and the targeting of Dr. Naseem Baloch’s family by the Pakistani state in an apparent attempt to prevent him from continuing his struggle for freedom and equality.
Members of the delegation also raised concerns regarding the unjust trial and sentencing of Dr. @MahrangBaloch_, Sibghatullah Shah Jee Baloch, and others, who have been sentenced to life imprisonment on fabricated charges, without being offered a fair trial.

This verdict, which is an affront to the right to a fair trial, demonstrates how Pakistan’s anti-terrorism laws are being cynically misused to silence peaceful dissent.

Jahanzaib Baloch was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on the same day tht Chairman Zubair Baloch was killed. The forces even presented him publicly after his disappearance. Today, they have claimed that he was killed in a clash. There will never be justice for his killing
Years have passed, yet their absence has not silenced their cause. The missing leaders of BSO Azad remain enduring symbols of resistance for the struggle of free and independent Balochistan. Though they have been taken from public sight but their vision lives on in the hearts of the people, and their names will continue to echo across generations until freedom prevails.
