The Baloch National Movement (BNM) organized a protest rally in Hannover, Germany, to strongly condemn the life imprisonment sentences handed down to Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leaders Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Sibghatullah Baloch. The demonstration also denounced the baseless judicial proceedings initiated against Baloch Students Organization (BSO) Chairman Balach Qadir, along with several other student leaders and political activists.
A diverse lineup of activists and leaders addressed the gathering. Speakers included BNM Germany Chapter President Asghar Baloch, former President Shar Hassan, former BNM Germany Vice President Safia Baloch, Baloch Republican Party (BRP) member Hammad Kurd, Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) representative Faisal Khan, BNM members Akbar Ali and Sara Umair, as well as BNM sympathizers Hira Bano and Murad Baloch.
Addressing the protesters, the speakers highlighted that this systemic oppression has persisted since Pakistan's forceful occupation of Balochistan in 1948. They declared that such atrocities will never silence the voice of the Baloch nation, stressing that Balochistan has been deliberately isolated and continuously denied justice.
The speakers further noted that the Pakistani state is marginalizing the Baloch nation in every conceivable manner. They argued that, with the backing of certain state-sponsored elements, the space for legitimate political activism in Balochistan is being systematically restricted.
In their concluding remarks, the speakers emphasized that incarcerating BYC leaders and activists merely for demanding accountability and basic human rights is a blatant violation of international human rights standards. They appealed to international organizations and the global community to take notice of the deteriorating situation and play an impartial role in resolving the crisis.

Despite nearly two decades having passed, Dr. Deen Jan’s family does not know whether he is even alive. Dr. Deen Jan is a conscientious physician and a nationalist leader who has been forcibly disappeared by the Pakistan Army for the past 17 years, following his abduction from a hospital on June 28, 2009.
These thoughts were expressed by speakers addressing a protest demonstration organized by the Baloch National Movement (BNM) in Berlin, Germany. The demonstration was held at Alexanderplatz to mark the completion of 17 years since the enforced disappearance of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch.
The speakers stated that Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch engaged in a peaceful struggle for the freedom of the Baloch nation, and that the sacrifices made by him and thousands of other captives are for the free and bright future of the Baloch nation.
Participants carried banners and posters displaying images of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch and other Baloch political activists. According to the protesters, these activists are being held in illegal detention by the Pakistan Army as enforced disappearances. Informational pamphlets were also distributed to the public to raise awareness about the ongoing issue of enforced disappearances in occupied Balochistan.
The demonstration was addressed by Hammal Khan, a Central Committee member of the Baloch National Movement (BNM) , Asghar Ali, President of the BNM Germany Chapter, and Mustafa Shahwani.

Organized by the Baloch National Movement (BNM), a protest was held outside 10 Downing Street in London to mark 17 years since the enforced disappearance of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch. The demonstration aimed to draw the attention of the UK government, the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and the broader global community to the deteriorating socio-political situation in occupied Balochistan. Key issues highlighted included the freedom movement, ongoing enforced disappearances, the Pakistani state's policy of collective punishment, and severe human rights violations.
Addressing the gathering, BNM Junior Joint Secretary Hasan Dost stated that the Pakistan Army is aggressively pursuing a policy of "collective punishment" against Baloch political activists. He urged international institutions and the global community to exert pressure on Pakistan and reconsider the financial assistance being provided to this country.
Furthermore, Dost appealed to the global Baloch diaspora to join the BNM and take a more active role in the Baloch freedom movement.
Other speakers condemned the 17-year-long enforced disappearance, unlawful imprisonment, and continuous torture of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch, describing it as a gross human rights violation. They emphasized that enforced disappearances have now become a formalized state policy in occupied Balochistan, operating in blatant defiance of international law. Thousands of Baloch families have been devastated by this practice, with the relatives of political activists increasingly targeted in retaliatory actions.
The speakers also highlighted that the father, uncles, and other close relatives of the BNM Chairman have been subjected to enforced disappearances, citing it as a glaring example of collective punishment inflicted upon the family of a peaceful political leader.
Protesters carried portraits, posters, and banners featuring Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch and other victims of enforced disappearances. They chanted slogans demanding the immediate safe recovery of all forcibly missing persons, an end to collective punishment, an immediate halt to human rights abuses, and freedom for Balochistan.
The protest proceedings were moderated by Kambar Bakhshi Baloch, Secretary of the BNM UK Chapter. Key addresses were delivered by BNM Junior Joint Secretary Hasan Dost, Saleem Elahi, and Kifayat Baloch.
I spoke with @aditi_tyagi on the sentencing of @MahrangBaloch_, @ShahGBaloch, @ChairmanBSO_, and other Baloch activists.

Deen Muhammad’s case is not isolated; families across Pakistan await answers as their loved ones remain forcibly disappeared for months, years, and decades.
Amnesty International joins Deen Muhammad’s family in demanding that the Pakistani authorities reveal his fate and whereabouts, along with the fate of all those forcibly disappeared. Further, a thorough, transparent, and independent investigation must be conducted to hold those responsible accountable.

“I was 10 years old at the time.
June brings the tormenting flashback in its worst forms. That day 17 years ago robbed me of my childhood, bringing me to the streets to protests for the release of my forcibly disappeared father – or at least for his family to finally learn his whereabouts.
Over time, my father’s disappearance became not only an emotional absence, but an administrative one. It followed me into every form, every office, every space where identity must be complete.”
Seventeen years on, @SammiBaluch writes about the enforced disappearance of her father, Dr Deen Mohammad Baloch, and the pain, struggle and hope that continue to define their fight for justice.
