Rwanda and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have reached a staff-level agreement on the first review of Rwanda's Extended Credit Facility program, reflecting strong economic performance, including 9.7% growth in the first half of 2026.
Once approved by the IMF Executive Board, Rwanda will have access to about US$35.7 million to support the economic program and ongoing reforms.

Minister @yusuf_murangwa is leading Rwanda's delegation at the 11th AIIB Annual Meetings in Doha. Today, he joined the Governors' Roundtable on strengthening strategic partnerships with member countries.
As a member, Rwanda has accessed financing for digitalisation, energy access, and private sector development. Looking ahead, Rwanda aims to deepen cooperation with the Bank, by focusing on multisectoral, large-scale, high-impact investments, and applying blended financing to flagship projects at every stage.

On the sidelines of #UNGA81 today in New York, Prime Minister Nsengiyumva joined Heads of State and Government at the Fourth Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) Leaders Meeting, chaired by Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, where he underscored the need to advance climate adaptation alongside urgent emissions reductions.
The Prime Minister also delivered closing remarks at an event marking the 10th anniversary of the Kigali Amendment and participated in a high-level discussion on pandemic preparedness and global health resilience, organised by the Pandemic Fund, Rwanda and Armenia.
